Well they finally had to report something about Syncera and they were bragging that they had actual customer(s) with the potential to do 3,000 joints using Syncera products (no time frame given). For perspective, HSS in New York does 9,000 a year. So they either have one big hospital or a couple of little ones doing Syncera who "potentially" will do 3,000 Syncera cases. I believe there are reps here that do that kind of volume already, with far fewer resources at their disposal, with far less geography. It gives them confidence to expand globally--read, maybe this stupid idea will work in Namibia, or Pakistan, or Chad. Good job, Olivier!
 






They did say annualized, so I interpret this to mean "all our customers combined can use UP TO 3,000 joints in a year". Sounds very tentative and evasive, so actual volume maybe 1,000 a year.

Nevertheless, given that this is an experiment, at the very early stages, working with early adopters and all that good stuff, there is no number that would make it successful or unsuccessful at the short time it has been live. Is $1Mil a good number? Sure, why not. If you see it as a learning exercise it is, and not a marketing effort that will increase S&N's share.

I will agree that the attention Syncera is getting is disproportionate to its significance. What puts it on the map is the screaming reps. The analysts have moved on, there was only one question on the call.
