What is going on here? Over five years with EbD and I've never felt this level of disconnect between leadership and the field. We are losing the battle with robotics and reprocessing. Barely 1/4 of the salesforce is ahead of their New Product quota. LESS than 1/4 are ahead of the ESD number. How is this possible? Are the other divisions experiencing the same thing?

- Are "we" losing the battle or "you" losing the battle?
- In most if not all sales jobs 25% of the reps are hitting or exceeding quota (TOP REPS)
- In most scenrios you have 20% performing at or above quota, 60% in the middle, and 20% at the very bottom.

Am I missing something?

Yea, tough guy, you're missing the historical perspective you would have if you were a part of this sales organization. Waaaay too much P-Club level talent "under achieving" this year.

Tom Brady is an all star (P-Level) quarterback that recently took a pay cut for the 2013 season. Tom Brady under-achieved last year. Tom Brady has the same product, however, the competition has changed, the competition is working harder, the competition is getting more complex.

What can Tom Brady do to make himself more competitive?

Perhaps you're getting older and can't remain competitive? Perhaps the relationships you thought you had you really don't have.

Just food for thought!!!!!

Tom Brady's arm isn't being disassembled, sterilized, and reassembled at a fraction of his asking price. However, our compensation plans are.

This equation is very simple:

- As a sales rep you are compensated based on SALES.
- If sales are up you get compensated handsomely, if sales are down you don't get compensated. Why is this hard to comprehend?
- Why do you expect to make the same amount of money when the company is seeing an overall decrease in sales?
- Have you ever purchased anything refurbished? I know I have!
- Stop crying about your lack of compensation and do 1 of 2 things to change it:
1) Assuming you have some relationships, become a SALES PERSON and figure out how to drive more sales in front of the competition.
2) Resign and look for something that doesn't require you to become aggressive, persuasive, competitive and at the same time will pay you $150k or more year over year.

Have a nice weekend!!!!

Tony Robbins + Forest Gump = Brilliant post! Now it's time for the trifecta...figure out a way to work in another sweet sports analogy. My favorite is the one about how TW "rebuilt" his swing after winning the Masters (because to be the best, you can never be satisfied). Not sure if that one applies here, but I'm sure you will come up with something that will be helpful to all the slacking whiners out there.
