Surgical sales & Uro/Gyn sales

I heard the Storz CEO had a similar situation with a employee that the outgoing Stryker CEO just got canned for?

Well, good thing Storz isn't a publicly traded company like SYK. For those that do not know Stephen Macmillan, former CEO of Stryker, was caught fucking the flight a attendant (a Stryker employee) on the company jet. His wife found out and announced it at the corporate Christmas party.

Not sure how Storz will benefit having uro/gyn sales force! The only way they will be able to keep existing business is by piggy backing the video rep and their deals. And why would ORs stay with them when they now have to actually buy the products and won't get the cysto-resection for free. For them to actually win a competitive deal they will have to give stuff away to beat Olympus and Wolfe's technology and superior products ($3995 flexible cystoscopes). Mother Storz must be paying all the commission on repairs because the products break as often as they lose video deals to Styrker.

But for those reps who will have to compete against this sales force be prepared....
I'm sure the only tactic will be the good old, "wait we will have a.... next week." Ie the digital Ureteroscope which has been seen in ten hospitals (breaks after two cases) and the AUA for the past five years.

Regardless, the company should keep the uro/gyn products with the reps who have been selling them successfully for the past ten-fifteen years. All they are doing is giving their competition a window to take even more of their business.

Its official 40 more core territories are being divided. Reps will be told soon. If it does not happen this go round I guess I will be on the chopping block next go round... This sucks.... However I did here truck drivers are needed!

This is what puzzles me and others.

Former full line reps/upper reps/lower reps build a business (without any disposable products) selling all reusable products without any innovation and we have to rely on customers breaking scopes/instruments for any kind of residual business.

Then the company adds two new divisions (head/neck & Uro/Gyn) and we are expected to handover our book of repair business to some wet behind the ear monkey!!!

Karl Storz answer- this will give you more time to search for new opportunities like GI & Ortho!!!

Btw managers a asking us to cart around the new reps who just took our only residual income.

What a joke!

Btw it was four divisions. Airway, Head & Neck, Uro/Gyn, Surgical.

If our sales management/marketing managers were not trying so hard to create promotions for themselves we would not be in this mess. So now we must go to these new reps we just hired and say we are sorry for hiring you but we really appreciated you leaving your last employer and hopefully this short employment will not hurt your resume!

Marketing: I wish someone could tell me what they have ever done to increase sales. Worthless

Ur a fuck tard!
There have only been 11 territories nationwide that have been segmented.
Under performing territories.
There are no further plans as of now to continue segmentation.
At least till economy improves.

Hey, don't worry about our new segmented market....If we can't make it, we can always go to airway. Just read their 4 pages of posts. People are leaving which mean opennings for others......

You're kidding, right? Who the hell would want to be an Airway rep? They'll likely shut those emerging divisions down soon anyway... probably end of year from what I hear.

Karl Storz is indeed a sinking ship, but every medical device company is having issues, you can blame Obama for this, Stryker is cutting 5% of the sales force, Smith Nephew is on the market, I would not join any medical device company until this mess sorts itself out. The executive talent at Karl Storz is the worst that I have seen. If you have met any of these guys then you would know what I mean and it is true the head guy does have trouble keeping his member in his pants. Compensation is way down from just 3 years ago, stay away or come in with eyes wide open.

"There have only been 11 territories nationwide that have been segmented."

This has to be a management prick, an outright lie. Territories have been segmented that have been producing for years.

Heard from my manager today that 40 core territories will be segmented to surgical/Uro & Gyn by June 2013. All territories in US will be effected in next 12 months. So do I go surgical or Uro/Gyn? Better yet look for a different job that will pay what I'm worth....
