First, I don't work for St. Jude Medical. I am a sales rep in neuromodulation stimulators- but my product doesn't compete against STJ OR Bostion Scientific or MDT. (Did work for MDT a while back in neuromodulation)
I'm posting here because it was a MDT Rep that the situation happened with. Please no haters.. Not too long ago I was covering a stim implant in a different state then I've covered cases in before- so I'm not sure if this is common in different states then mine-
My partner who covers all the cases in that state was with me. Not even 5 min after my surgeon started the case- a MDT rep walked in (not in neuromodulation division a different neuro division) walked up to my partner and I and introduced himself- then proceeded to hover over my surgeon while he was operating- talking small talk for 15 min+ nothing that was important (I would understand if he had a simple question about consignment set needed for a case to follow- but my case was the last one for the day) then walked to the circulator and did the same for 10+ min then back to the surgeon for another 7ish min... He was basically using my case to up-sell his products and build a better relationship with the neurosurgeon.
I thought it was extremely disrespectful, shady and unprofessional-
Thoughts????

You must be a massive puss. You should have walked over to him quietly and told him to hit the road!!

Did you offer to buy that rep coffee after the case? He / she totally disrespected you and your partner and sees the two of you as a complete non-factor.

Next time I'm disrespected like this I will as them to leave quietly so I can buy them coffee and then I will dump that shit right in their face. #thirddegreeburns#iaintplayingnomore

Glad to know you own the doc. I am sure if they didn't want that rep in he OR, they would have kicked him out.

Next time interject yourself into the conversation and steer it away from the rep instead of coming to post some passive aggressive anonymous drivel.

OP here-

lets get this straight, I'm a fairly new sales associate with this company- working with a senior partner- an alpha female BIotchhh, and more experience then her, but I was in her OR room with her surgeon- I cover a differnt state in our shared territory- I would never have let that happen in my OR with my surgeons, with her being an Alpha female I figured she would have kicked him out but she didn't, so the only thing I could think of was maybe it's different in Kansas... LOL.

IF this is a true story and you are the 'OP' and you 'would never have let that happen in my OR' then what's the problem? It wasn't your OR. It wasn't your case. You were a guest. Stop worrying about what others do. Handle your account, your OR, your docs as you see fit.

Pathetic

IF you are the OP, it has nothing to do with innocence. Growing a pair? Maybe/maybe not as you were not in you 'OR', it was not your account so you did the right thing by sitting back quietly. Now, if it was in your 'OR' and/or territory then absolutely grow a pair and stand up for yourself. Earning respect and keeping your dignity is vital to long term success.
