Stryker = hiring freeze??

With the news of Stryker taking over, what happens to the new hires who haven't started yet? From what I understand, there were a lot of new people hired and/or pending offers.

Stryker taking over? They haven't even made an offer. If they do make an offer, it has to be accepted by the board. If that happens, it's a year before any merger would be finalized. Slow down.

Most recent hires are always first to go. Mergers and Acquisitions 101. Then all the middle management and members of the sales force who are under plan. Only the lucky few will be taught the secret handshake.

Amen, I agree. No new products worth getting excited about in at least 5 years.

That's all big ortho in a nutshell. You think Stryker management is the answer? Commodity portfolio marketed to large GPO's who want sole source provider of generic implants. Only advantage Stryker has is they are incredible at identifying kol's and making them part of the team. Unreasonably low, hospital mandated and physician backed pricing has crushed the margins and wiped out research and development. What's the point of developing better implants when nobody will pay premium pricing? Get ready for 6% commission, just enough of a benefit package to command your exclusivity, territory splits and micro management. And if you don't march to the beat there is a long line of former college athletes and fraternity brothers lining up to take your spot. And btw, happy hour this Friday night for the OR staff is provided by the new Stryker rep.

It's the same scenario regardless of management. If all else is equal, I'll take Stryker management all day long.

Fire the bums.

That would be illegal. Collect evidence. Document. Plan for retirement on whistleblower cut. Seriously.

For all of the talk about ethics & compliance, no one in this company cares about either. Everyone doing their own thing in the interest of making themselves look better without any regard for the rules. Stop kidding yourself!!!

Exactly my point! With the disregard, if someone has evidence, Cha Ching!! Do it and cash in!! Cases keep appearing where the whistleblower gets large cut!!
