Stryker buys out Mako Surgical

It's go big or go home time, with only small niche players remaining outside of the very big boys.

I think it's a lousy fit, but would add Linvatec to the list of possible Zimmer acquisition targets.

Mako has lost money for a long time. It's management was imploding from what I know. The business plan isn't sustainable. Zimmer developed a robot for surgery in 2009, only to stop the program when the business case couldn't be made to work. Good decision. Stryker must know something we don't about their intended use for the company or technology.

Stryker routinely knows something we don't. That's why they routinely kick our ass.
