Stock Purchase

Can someone tell me why we have not been notified about selling our stock on NOV 1 or how to do it this year? Seems like they are making it hard to do.
If you can't figure that one out you aren't very smart. They do realize every person that bought into the stock purchase plan will be selling to get their 15% increase. This math does not help a struggling company led by incompetent people. Therefore the longer they wait the more they hope people will forget and just keep their shares instead of selling.

Because the the procedure was changed at least a year ago. You cannot sell immediately, shares will be purchased tomorrow and deposited into your account after a few days. Sale is allowed after that.

No problem, and remember always come to cafepharma when you need advice on managing your finances.
This!

All kidding aside —if you log on to your account and you will see the purchase has been made, plus the stock has gone up so you should have more than a 15% gain!

You may want to wait 1 year + 1 day to get favorable tax treatment. And keep an eye on what’s happening with Trump’s tax act in case there is some hidden zinger in there (who knows all the implications on tax treatment of a sale or on the industry or Shire?!)
Also maybe ask your accountant or financial planner for their perspective.

As for myself, I am probably not going to sell till 2019 even though it’s a big risk with this company —- who knows how much horse trading Flem might do between now and then.

I tried to sell when the stock hit 150 last week. However, after reviewing the 30 service fee plus 4400 Tax, my gross proceeds was 2,000 less than what I put into it. I did max 12,500.

So my 15% is instantly gone since Tax was 33.33 percent. Hopefully after waiting a year helps with taxes.

You are better off putting your post tax dollars in a Roth 401k and letting the money grow tax free. When you retire you you pay 0 in taxes
