Pretty simple if you ask me. From what I gather, Quest doesn’t want to pay, so their commission structure only benefits the company. They do their best not to pay out commissions, so they use quirky, confusing budgets (quotas) with unattainable goals. This coincides with insurances lowering their reimbursements across the board. The turnover is great, because talented reps who strive to earn 200K or more cannot at Quest.
If they tell you commissions are uncapped, they’re lying. The proof is in the pudding. Their reps are lazy. Clients never see them. They stay home all day putting in fake SF notes and only go out if accounts dramatically lower their send. The rest of the sales team is out looking for new accounts to support the lazy account managers.
The whole structure at Quest is a joke. If you want to make real money, you leave Quest. Don’t believe me? Dare a rep to show you their W-2 in 2022 or 23. A vast majority of them don’t sniff 200K.
The Lab game has turned into the Pharma rep business. Most of those tools don’t come close to 200K either. That’s why most of them work until 3pm and go home afterward.
Hope this helps
