Stay out of my politics

ENOUGH. Shouldn't a public company be more politically neutral? I am tired of the company taking overt stances on personal political issues. And making me feel ostracized for not agreeing with the agenda the company is pushing.

I agree Oh Pee

The CEO doesn’t need to shove his personal political opinion down my throat. Trust me, if your view is the opposite of Lilly’s on anything and you sent out a company blast email, you wouldn’t be employed here very long

Companies all need to pander to their larger constituents. That’s just business. Unfortunately you can’t please everyone.

also remember that the ‘government’ is typically the largest customer that pharma calls on, so it’s wise to NOT note the hand that feeds you.

that said, this whol Georgia voting thing is really a mountain from a mole hill. And moving all-star game to Denver is major hypocrisy considering the voting controls they have in place in CO.

I agree Bob or Jim or Tim. They should be able to overturn elections if they don’t like results. MAG- would still be in office if they works have listened and “found” votes in Fulton County Atlanta, Detroit, Philly, Milwaukee..where “those” people are. It’s sad that companies are making moves based on capitalism and the future Browning of America where “selective buying” will be the norm.

It is one thing to support the legislation as a company. Apparently we already had since the newsflash came out after Steve Fry had testified.
It is another thing to ask me to support it too. And if I speak up against Lilly's position, I will face the backlash.
Doesn't this go directly against our D&I initiatives? Shouldn't political opinions be protected?

Are we talking jim and bob from Washington state

When was Lilly not a politicized company? Recall John L was a big time Democrat, who hired ex Mayor Bart Peterson to lead Corporate Affairs and make lots of money. Can anyone identify a single accomplishment Mayor Bart accomplished? Nope. Then when John retired, Bart moved on. Other politican hires with nothing accomplished: Mitch Daniels, Alex Azar.

Just keep your mouth shut. You never know if you are safe, no matter what you think you know. Just start making your internal moves now, and trust no one. No one. Don't sign anything without lawyer. Lilly makes things up that aren't even true, to get rid of people. Document everything. Magic words to be heard wet HR are :" I didn't get the same opportunity as my teammates to do xyz ....apply for jobs, etc. .

One big error in your logic......

Peterson wasn't there because John liked him. They usually have someone in that role who is aligned politically to the DC politics. Just a coincidence that John L retired around the same time Trump was elected and Peterson left. He was a disaster anyhow.
