Stay....or run?

Today I was told that a MJN acquisition is almost 100 percent at this point. And word is that it is with the manufacturer of Lysol and Dr. Scholls. What does that mean for the future of the MJN sales force? I have heard that there will be a large sales force reduction and even more for the management side (less that 50 reps).

it's sad to see the downfall of this great company. I enjoyed my career with MJN until the end. The company started to change, the leadership changed and there was no clear direction on how we should "sell" a large amount of products. I was smart to leave when I did, especially once I realized how different it was to work for a company that supports it employees and rewards them. I hope the salesforce will be safe, but I recommend people to look elsewhere if you're not happy, especially given the dismal future. If this acquisition happens, I would be very surprised if they kept the entire sales force. They are a consumer company, and coincidentally the new VP is from a consumer company. No surprise there! And honestly, the paycheck was a huge leap from where I was. You won't be disappointed!

You had to know this was coming if you spend one minute at a MJN sales meeting lately, or with the marketing team, or have witnessed multiple misfires coming from leadership. Sad to watch, E. Mead is rolling.

The signs were obvious over the past few months. CS leaving. SW getting the VP of Marketing job (her own people are already quietly saying she's just not the right person for a VP level job). IM leaving. In looking at the RB stuff they have placed a value on medical sales. There's a huge cost savings goal though. RB just has a terrible reputation as an employer. Probably a run.

To the person filing the lawsuit. I have no idea if your claims or valid or not and my intention is not to be mean or rude. My question is why are you wanting your job back?

First off, the person suing is NOT posting on this board in this thread. I was wondering that too. Probably doesn't really want it back. Nor would the company want her back. My guess is it's part of the legal approach to this. Basically both parties will agree out of court that she won't come back but she'll get her salary for however many years more if she keeps her mouth shut. Basically a way to get more money. I can assure you the company does not want this matter in the court system.

Do you really think they are going to keep the salesforce? In all honesty, what part of our job can't be done by a home office Or consumer marketing department? You're all foolish if you think our jobs are too important to avoid a layoff. There is no future for us. Sadly..
The lawsuit probably has some merit. Smart to announce it prior to acquisition, they will settle and more damage will be done to our brand.

There's always shareholder lawsuits with these deals. Actually it's not even a lawsuit yet but different legal firms attempting to get enough shareholders to say MJN was worth more so they can sue. Then the shareholders will get $2.50 more per share and the lawyers will get millions. Won't block the sale.

It's over here. The last two years have been a disaster. Thank god our stock is back over $85. I can retire in peace even though I was looking for another two years. Abbott has been kicking our butts and quite frankly we have no answers for this. Embarrassing to say the least.

It has been a good run. 28 years, 1.8 million in 401K. Company has made some really poor decisions in the last few years. Probably a good idea to sell now. A sad ending though.
