Stay Away from Genentech

I have never witnessed so many of my peers be treated so poorly. Political bullshit, disingenuous process, inflated egos, lies, and, don’t kid yourself, pre-picked people for each role well before interviews. Legal protection for the company projecting a fair process with the career lab, resume assistance, practice interviews.....etc.

I bet NO doesn’t know she has a reputation as the “butcher.” They bring her in every time there is a lay-off and now she is in charge? That may give you a clue as to the customer engagement of the future.

We are left with a group of people that will even tell you they don’t know what they are doing. Another group (majority) of people that are unemployed and losing health insurance during a global pandemic despite making millions off of Roche Diagnostics testing, Actemra and Activase. I guess they are trying to make up for the billions in revenue loss from Herceptin, Rituxan, and Avastin.

For those considering ever working here, think again. It truly is a toxic culture with zero job stability. And this is a company that is supposed to be one of the best places to work. Are you kidding me?????!!!!!

Back when she was in primary care, we referred to her as no no. Ok no, it’s no no.

I watch what has happened to this once “pinnacle “ of a biotech and count my blessings daily that I got out on my own accord and didn’t play the bullshit bingo which was looming. Those hanging on with Lucentis are clueless lemmings hoping for the port to resurrect the franchise. The toxic leaders that have left their mark on that franchise over the past 6 years are part of the greater problem across the whole company. Does anyone really think Ian left for any other reason than he was going to be linked to the scandal with the dead lobbyist? Lots of skeletons across the DNA legacy

Do people in our industry even take this company seriously anymore. What they do in SSF these days has turned into the joke of the industry. The only people who don't know are the ones who still work there. The worst is that they continue to think that they know better than others. You take a look at the minor league reject line-up. NO, AH, JF, DA and the like. They are the legends in their own minds. I think the cashier ladies in my local Walmart sound a lot more cohesive than NO. As for AH, look at that ever so confused look on his face! I feel for him! What a clown!

If one day they take a "mindset" house cleaning among the leadership from the very top, this company may have a chance to resurrect. Until then, don't associate yourself with this loser. You'd be better off selling generics to PCPs.

I kept my job but now regret not taking the package. Leadership is awful and continue to treat its people poorly. I listen to these CMG calls and wonder if these people even know what reality is.

No direction, no accountability...just self serving egomaniacs that like to feel important and can not be trusted. More layoffs coming in rheumatology.

Did the same, unfortunately, but will be leaving soon.

I made the same mistake, as well. So have many others that I have spoken too. Who knew we would be out this long, to flatten ‘the curve’. I am deciding I am leaving because I want to utilize my education for once. Not towards aimless goals. And on another note: RECALL Gavin Newsome!

I had a great career at GNE prior to the influx of toxicity of new people who sold their souls.
Leadership does not lead. They encourage you to think out of the box but only if it suited them.
When One Genentech became a concept, we all looked at each other and scratched our heads.
We have been that way you idiots now all of a sudden you want to join the party?
MCCO RUINED RUINED RUINED this company! RGMS? BAMS? Are you kidding me? Try getting them involved, or even on a call. They built lake houses and stayed there. BAMS worthless bunch of toxic people.
No thanks to the EGOSYSTEMS you are way out of your league. Theres no crying in Pharma, girls!

My time has ended. Wasn't properly mindsetted.........so I wasn't picked. Package was great. New job. I will miss what was.......but I'm starting to realize that those days were over while I was still here.....No vitriol, just a touch of sadness as I leave a place where I loved. Best of luck and please get the stock back up to 350 before I have to sell.
Sincerely,
Long Term Employee who got shown the Door

Ditto on every point.

No leadership all the way to the top - pure and simple. Empty suits reigning over their 'ego'systems. Bob & Herb? Who are they?

Was displaced during the Pioneer phase of restructuring. Still having a hard time finding a job, COVID has had huge impact over every industry. Be thankful you have an income and benefits for your family... BUT, I get what our saying...

So many people were let go, lost their income (single parent) and health insurance during a pandemic while at the same time, profited from treatment and testing. So wrong!!!!!
