So after having followed this board for a while, it seems that all is quiet... actually very very quiet compared to posts from 08 and 09. Either all the people who seemed disgruntled left, or new folks just don't know about these message boards yet.

Whatever the case may be, I am curious as to what the current state of affairs is at this company? Good leadership/bad leadership, good/bad comp plan, attainable quota etc etc. The healthcare landscape is changing, and I am curious to know if anything at Haemonetics has changed recently as well.

99% of the reps that were here in 08/09 are gone. Same problems exist today and it could be argued things are worse. Same busted up products, salaries slashed, goals are unrealistic, turnover still a problem along with layoffs.

The boards are quiet because we have a lot of new managers and reps who bought a bunch of lies to come here along with the managers from Bos Sci. They will leave in a year.

Thanks for the insight. It raises a few more questions-

Why the influx of Bos Sci folks to HAE?

What was the basis for slashing salaries?

Any new products in the piplines, or still the same for the better part of the last decade?

Over 3 years at Haemonetics and I've seen many, many changes. To be honest, I feel they've made significant progress over the last couple quarters. It's not just Bos Scientific people that have come in. Covidien, Medtronic, J&J. Many consider these companies blue chip companies. "Same problems today" just is not true. It is starting to seem that with enough new blood the culture change will stick.

Our products have always been good and my customers are asking about blood management. Programs, leadership, internal support, morale, resources have been the problem. Many of us feel that they're finally getting to the root of those problems and fixing them one by one. If they keep making good progress many of us feel we've got good shot at success. And a shot at making money and bonuses.

Just my 2 cents

The products here are not bad however they are very old. Except the Elite and from what I am hearing it has major issues everything else is too expensive. Blood Management is a marketing tool. The OPAT is not welcome back in many of the accounts it was pulled out of.

I like your positve attitude but the only bonus you will make is your 2 cents because any company that takes away up to 20k in salary over a 2 year period does not care about its sales reps. What a great way to increase rep morale, take away salary.

OP here-

Been working with a recruiter as of late, and I aksed about this company from their perspective... the response was "Decent company with a few good products, but lately it can't decide where it wants to go or what it wants to be".

Does this seem to ring true?

I recommend you speak directly to the hiring manager. Recruiters sometimes have agendas. Former employees have agendas. Clearly those who post on this site have an agenda. Don't put too much stock in either. Especially if this company is going through a major culture shift and refocusing its market direction, it's important to get direct and timely information.

My advice. Don't worry about what was. Focus on what is and what will be.

Go with your gut after speaking to the person you would be reporting to. Ask questions about vision, compensation, work/life balance, future career opportunity etc. Learn more about the background of the people that have recently come in to the company. A good hiring manager will be happy and willing to handle these questions. Their agenda should be finding the right fit between employee/employer for a long career.

This advice applies to any company you may be looking at.

Good advice however this is HAE and we have nothing new except Elite. As far as career advancement just ask the 3 managers who got promoted only to get demoted and replaced by outside candidates. I work here and can honestly tell you that 100% of what you read on here is true. If you are looking for a job in medical than take the job. If you are already in medical this should be a last resort. What the company is actually doing now anyway is looking to hire b2b reps without medical sales experience because they want people they can mold and who will take the crap they ram down your throat because you are happy to be in medical sales. The good news is this is a good place to build a resume. You can say you are in the OR and have sold capital equipment to the C-Suite. Seeing a HAE rep in the C-Suite or the OR is like seeing a unicorn though. AINT HAPPENING!

Me and a few others will be gone soon and the super happy kool aid drinker above can invite more of thier Bos Sci friends into HAE to take our spots and we can talk next year about how much progress you have made. I wish you the best.

There is no question. The tide is changing. It seems there are a few negative people left. But, only a few at this point. '08 and '09 was a tough time, thus the posts.

I wouldn't call myself a kool aid drinker. I'm pretty vocal when it comes to pointing out issues. However, I will take happy and motivated. Why be negative? It's hard to deny the energy we're seeing in the organization lately. Region meetings, contests, cash payouts, etc. Those are good things right?

To be honest things here have changed and I am not sure if they are good or bad. It has been less than a year since the restructuring. Some of the changes didn't make a whole lot of sense. We have numerous sales people calling on the same individuals and causes confusion when customer needs something or who their main contact is. Something that really stands out to me is that our sales process is very long no matter our product, we have high expectations to close business from management not knowing if they truly understand the sales cycle and the length of it. Makes our goals very tough to attain.

Other challenges we have had is the current recall we had on the orthopat. Lost business due to this recall company made adjustment to quota. But didn't take into consideration that business lost wasn't temporary customers were completely done with the product because of issues. Now territory is in the whole and will be for the rest of the year due to the company fault not the reps and they do not care about situation. May even be to the point where I would have to actually pay back commissions next fiscal year.

To be honest this place isn't the place I interviewed with. Where they wanted seasoned sales consultants. They want this to be a covidien or entry level device job. Pay the reps minimal salary with it looking like a good variable, which I do not believe even 35% of the sales forces finishes anywhere near 90% to plan. Seems as this is a constant up hill battle here to make any money.

Don't get me wrong their are great people here to work with and the some very good sales people. I just wish that management would see the value in their sales people and do the right thing for them.
