Station wagons are here and you get to pay to drive one; buckle up kids

Just when I thought all the perks of this job were gone, Fleet proves me wrong. Only this isn't a perk... I HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS: Enter the station wagon. What's that you say, Do they still make those? Weren't they the butt of every 1980s Chevy Chase movie? YES, Yes. We are a forward-facing, modern, pharma company, with our feet firmly placed in 1980 when station wagons were a national joke. And we're gonna pee on your leg and tell you it's raining but saying it's about safety (psst just don't Google it because its really not, Volvo and Phizer is handing those out like t-shirts to 21-year-olds coming out of college with zero experience. Not to worry, we don't hire those- we hire the best of the best with years of experience and reward them with station wagons. But hey just like suits in the summer in the south - we are bringing it back! I can hear it now.. "you should be grateful". I should also have a choice in what I am forced to drive for my job and pay for. I didn't take this job thinking I'd be joining Clark Griswald. For that matter, I should be paid better but I'm not. Google it suckers: the station wagon is outdated but it will not die, not this year because Fleet is clearly getting a kickback to force us to drive these. "it's a nice car!" BS, its ugly, uncomfortable, and NEWS FLASH FLEET: NOT A PERK! "You should just quit then" Thankfully, I can. Enjoy it! Don't end up like good old Dinky, strapped to the bumper of the Truckster.

Don’t worry Brent is about to clean out the fleet department too. It’s on his list. Bye Bye Fleet folks. I predict it will happen right after they show Yolanda the door. Stand by and watch the show.

It’s a Subaru Outback.

you need to learn to roll with the punches. GM can’t make vehicles fast enough for us to meet our needs. Fleet companies are scrambling and cars are staying in the field well past switchover requirements (years, mileage).

Therefore have to start looking at other companies. Basically, that leaves Ford and Subaru, as not every brand of company offers fleet.
I’d rather take the Subaru outback versus a Ford escape (neither Ford Explorer nor Ford Edge were B+L cars, just the Escape).

Been there and had both of them before.

I have never seen so much passionate hate about getting a Subaru Outback over a Chevy Equinox lol. You’d think we were all driving BMW’s before the change with how mad the person who made this thread is.

Who really cares both cars are cheaply built so hope you don't have breakdowns in the field. The company does everything on the cheap because they are still 32 billion dollars in debt and is run by blithering idiots. You need to be worried because the company is putting all their eggs in one basket with the Dry Eye drug . The drug if it gets approved will have little to no coverage and have the lousy coupons that don't work. There are 5 branded dry eye drugs out there with better coverage. The launch will be a guaranteed cluster fuck just like Vyzulta was, if this drug fails look for major layoffs and a fire sale. Our boy Brent is famous for layoffs!

You must be Karen from fleet. Ok!

So spare me the, there are no vehicles available BS, they are taking newly manufactured Chevys away from those who were able to get new ones and making them order station wagons.

That sound like a cost issue to me. The resale if the used Chevys is higher than the new value of the station wagons (an Outback is a station wagon, google is your friend)

And. They're saying it's safety issue not a supply issue. At least drink the correct flavor of Kool Aid if you're going to speak for them.

And if you're so happy rolling with the punches-(BTW- BEST description of working here EVER) why are you out here? Go send your manager your business plan for selling to competing dry eye products in a price driven market. I'd love to know how you plan to sell the both for $100 when competitors can't keep refills coming in with $0 copays.
