One company and one leadership that truly does not care about how their decisions affect families. The decision to outsource would have clearly taken time to complete, contracts, negotiations, presentation on support models, etc. You speak of patients first, but I have a hard time believing that, after what I have seen yesterday. Your VP took exactly 4 minutes in a conference room to deliver a hand written statement about your decision. The statement started with the decision made was the right thing to do for Amgen, not its patients or employees....It's time to change your companies values to something more befitting.

You are a wise person. This is the reason why employees do not care for Amgen. We take care of ourselves first. This whole company will soon be outsourced.

They did the same thing to the people up at Onyx, so nobody should be surprised. They were hiring and filling jobs up there knowing darn well they were going to shutter the place.

Left this shit hole after 12 years -- could no longer work for such a horrible company.

It is sad, no doubt. But did you really trust all the talk about Amgen Values, family, yada yada? Do they still have Fermentation Seminars?
Anyway... Let's say you hired a gardener in January... Will you fire him now? Do you really think, that you are more important? Gardener has a family too. Your employment is just contract between you and the company, that works while/if they need you. Everything else is an HR talk.

The thing is that it was Amgen's decision that will also affect if he keeps his gardener, housekeeper or anything else. That is the point - their decision has a huge domino effect. And that is not ever considered in there decisions. The fact that he was just hired is ridiculous.

Stop coming on here to complain all of the time. You are starting to sound like a bitter old hag.

Aren't you moving on to bigger and better things? Usually people who feel good about their decision to leave don't continually stalk their former company's CP board. It's really sad, actually.

Unfortunately CafePharma is the only outlet for the injustice. No employee is important at Amgen and our jobs are disposable.

ED finding out most people offered packages won't go to Tampa and he didn't plan For the lack of interest for Tampa. So now he is beginning to see his upcoming delemma. He knows who sustains those systems and who puts out those P1's. Don't worry new person he is walking the halls trying to sell Tampa jobs. If you don't mind working 16 hours days to cover gaps, work on transitioning your job to another, and realize you will be right back to reviewing a package when your done then you too can go to Tampa for one of those jobs. Quit walking the halls trying to joke with us ED it's fake and annoying.

Yes, retirement is great but what is "sad, actually" is seeing great friends and smart colleagues booted out and/or just generally treated like crap.

That is terrible. But you should count your blessings. You are better off leaving that place.
