In the time that I have been here, lots of changes when you look at the way of being managed.

There was a time when managers had to go into the field and work with their reps. Now? It's sufficient to do a field coaching report on "conversations" they have with their direct reports. My manager has yet to meet my and barely any of my coworkers high potential or high prescribing writers. Maybe 2-3 of those in the entire district.

My old manager asked for a list of my top 10 and made it a point to meet all of them

If you want to know why the product is suffering in some areas? There is no support system for these teams.

I guess I should be thankful that I rarely see her. I have only had my manager meet me for 2 field contacts since August. Which in total equaled a half day when you look at the time that she actually spent in the field.

If we are being judged on metrics, shouldn't they? Aren't they supposed to be in the field 4 days a week?

Corporate may want to look at them with a microscope.

You are clueless if you actually think not having your manager in the field seeing your top prescriber is the reason why the product isn't doing well. You are moron for wanting your manager to work with you more!

I echo the above sentiments. Why in hell would you want your manager working with you more? I always found it was a detriment to have a manager ride along. In fact, I have been at this a long time, and my key docs refuse to see the manager--call me back and make him wait in the waiting room. I just can't believe that the letter was written by a rep

I think the person was just trying to make a point ... That reps are held to the fire and managers do whatever the hell they want

Exactly.

We are being told to check the box on calls. They have once again moved away from the "quality" of a call and are just having us check the box on doctors many that are limited to no access. Haven't we matured from this way of doing business past this 5 years ago?

There was a time when relationships in these offices meant something. I know not all managers are created equal but my manager took the time to get to know my customers. Now? My manager is useless. Any questions I ask go unanswered. Managers just sit at home, have great home life balance.

If we are going to be managed this way? Just have me check in with an admin person to discuss with what happened with each customer and Dispense with the overpaid useless managers

Truly not clueless. I've lasted here for a reason.

There was a time when our customers were important enough to have relationships up the line with managers and brand team. I wouldn't want my manager of today to have a relationship with my customer because she hasn't earned it. My issue is she does NOTHING! And when it comes time for your review and you have NOTHING to document your values and behavior. Let me know how you will justify getting a 3.

Reality? I'm just saying we don't need these high paid admin assistants aka ABLs
