Stakeholders In The Health Care Sector
As a health care administrator at an urgent care facility it is important to know who your internal and external stakeholders are. Urgent Care facilities are used as a place to go to when an emergency room is not needed, however the medical matter is urgent enough that care is still needed immediately. Urgent care facilities provide patients with access to quality care for simple non-life-threatening medical issues. When patients come in for service they are usually expecting to receive professional, courteous, and efficient service in a manner that is delivered more promptly than it would in an emergency room setting.
Internal Stakeholders
Internal stakeholders at an urgent care facility are those individuals who have an interest in the organization through employment, investment, or ownership. Stakeholders at urgent care include the doctors, nurses, management, and staff that help with daily operations (Droog et al., 2018). Strategies used to develop relationships with internal stakeholders could be building and gaining the stakeholder’s trust, keeping open lines of communication, and involving them in the decision making process.
External Stakeholders
External stakeholders are those individuals who are not within the business, but have an interest in the success of the business or will either be affected by the performance of the organization. Stakeholders outside of the organization include health insurance companies, patients, vendors, and suppliers. Strategies used to develop relationships with external stakeholders are meetings, emails, and newsletters (Taylor, 2015).

Conclusion
Whether the stakeholder is internal or external both will have an influence on how the urgent care facility operates and performs. As a future leader of management it is important to have the ability to keep open and effective communication. Keeping good lines of communication with stakeholders will determine the effectiveness in high-leverage decisions and projects (Clayton, 2021). Communication will also help determine which stakeholders are motivated and are willing to collaborate and contribute to the goals and mission of the organization. The foundation of each group of stakeholders will be built on credibility, competency, ethics, and consistency (Clayton, 2021).
