I find this interesting because capacitive coupling is pretty much a non-issue in modern laparoscopy, SILS included. Aside from possibly using more cautery with robotics, what would cause this?
It became a non-issue when everyone started to use plastic cannulas. SILS also uses plastic cannulas. I'm only aware of Intuitive using metal ones.
Then why use metal cannulas? Seems like an easy fix for something that is causing so many problems for ISI right now (alternate site injury lawsuits, etc.). Will an EES or COV cannula not work?

It should be a requirement to use Active Electrode Monitoring with the robot.
