One of our patient's family members stopped in and thanked us for the care and attention given to her recently deceased mother over the years.
To take the time to stop by even though she lived out of state is testament.
THIS is what makes the job worth while.

Personally, I'll never forget having to unplug a pt's conc who was on 6-8LPM cont because her doc screwed up paperwork. As i rolled it out, those people whom I had built a relationship with for years looked at me like i was a murderer and I felt like one too. Or threatening a bedridden man on the cusp of eviction with doing the same to him because his wife lost her job.

Oh paleeeez if you have not picked up a patients equipment because of bad/incomplete paperwork or because they fail to get a recert then you are NOT doing your job. This is a business not a charity.

I can assure you it happened. It was during the time that PSTs were acting as repo agents. It wasnt a new setup. This was a longtime patient that was there even before i was. Im no longer with rotech as i quit last may.
