You can't really call deli slinging a 'sales' job in the sense that article examines. There is plenty of data to support that open territories do as well as prepped ones in sales. Sales here is more or less relationship management. Insurance companies have more to do with sales than the actual salesforce.

You can't mean the relationship you have with the back of the doctor's head?? They are not interested in Steve or Z 25. Contrary to the fools running this company, physicians re very intelligent people and do not need the same lame line weekly.

This model works. It has been proven over time. Doctors were also smart thirty years ago. The issue is we don't have new drugs. The reason why sales will not get hit harder is simple. Once we buy smaller companies to get a pipeline we still need sales to move those drugs. That is how it works. Right now sales will not get large bonuses or raises. We do need to make sure they are whole and have the wind to there back once new drugs are out. The is called business 101. If we don't produce more drugs we will all be let go. Simple as that
