So why Purdue?

I am currently with another larger Pharma company, and have an interview with Purdue next week. I was hoping for some honest opinions from REAL Purdue Reps on whether or not I should make the jump from where I am, to a smaller private company.

And please, only honest answers, I know there are a lot of people that surf this sight with know business being here, so please only real posts. Thanks.

Real Purdue Rep here saying, whatever you do, don't expect to make the bonus. If you do, you will be very disappointed. Depending on your salary, it's ok. We are on the low side for small-mid pharma, equal to some larger. Benefits will be less, but it is rare to make the bonus. The new OC is not well received and there is potentially stiff competition coming later this year.

I am not a salesman, but left Purdue after 10+ years. Salary and Bonus were great (only because I was a senior employee). The amount of Bull$**t going on hits you really hard, like this new OP, and the Butrans made with 1980 transdermal technology. I just could not take it anymore!. In my new job I am making less money, but feel much better, renewed, full of energy, and again much more like a professional individual.

Salary is not great. Bonus COULD be great, but more likely it'll be lime the previous poster said- 6-8k per quarter. Not too sure about this new launch... Have to wait and see. That being said, they really do take care of thrill reps. Lot of reps with very long tenure, lot of reps promoted.

Thanks for the thread. I am a district manager with an opportunity to come to Purdue. Would mean a base salary cut, but I'm more interested in the culture. Is it a good place to be? (Thats worth money to me!) thx

YES!!! I absolutely love this place!! There are so many people that have been loyal to Purdue... look at the average tenure of 12 plus years before the expansion with a good handful of people that have 20-35 years in with the organization. The culture is great and you would be mistaken to follow the advice of a sour rep that has not done well enough to make bonus. Many reps do fair rather well and far exceed 40+ a year in bonus.

How many companies do you know of that foster the growth of their sales reps to the extent of having every single board member, VP of sales included grow from carrying the bag???
