So who is the investor...any guesses?

Top down VP's dropping like flies due to large salaries. Top management leaders don't need to be duplicated if a big pharma company buys Eisai. RSD's & Managers next...stay tuned.

All Eisai has to offer is R&D facilities, dwindling products, and a new home office building.

My guess....Pfizer

don't think so. although the ceo stated at the PCU town hall on Feb 11 that they are always keeping their options open, actually selling the U.S. business is much easier said than done. selling off products, however, is another matter.

Pfizer has announced a 5B stock buy back which means they don't think there is anything out there worth buying so they invest in their own stock. What value would Eisai bring to Pfizer. They are struggling with their own need to reduce businesses and people.

Nobody will buy Eisai. Just forget about that option.

Use your brain to think: What can Eisai offer? Disgruntled employees? Declining Aciphex, off patented Aricept, troubled Dacogen or co-promted Aloxi?

Sure, Eisai wants many Billion of dolloars, but only in its wildest dream, any investor would consider Eisai. Remember, Eisai is the most shorted stock. Who wants to touch a failing company?

Folks, be smart, if you have lawsuits against Eisai, file it and get in line. Otherwise, it would be too late to get anything. The ship sinks faster than you thought.

It does not mean this at all. You must be a manager. All a buy back does is reduce the number of shares outstanding. Each of the shares becomes more valuable as it represents a greater % of equity that the other shareholders now own. As long as a company does not pay a huge premium for buying back stock-its a good thing for shareholders.

PFE has a market cap of $150+ Billion. a 3% buy back does not mean that PFE management thinks Eiasi is shit. Eisai might be shit and Eiasa may not fit into the long term aquistion strategy of Pfizer.

Can't see how Eisai acquisition would help Pfizer value. Halaven is too small and there are no other large PC brands on the close horizon. Eisai should have sold out before the eritoran and Aciphex ER became known. They could have received the "hope" markup.

Yes, no pipeline to offer, just products that will generate "some" revenue. Mainly capital buildings that are relatively new may be a consideration. Or just slim down the entire organization to bare bones to try to survive for a limited time.
