So what's everyone going to do?

While I hate to admit it, it does seem inevitable that there will be layoffs. So what's everyone thinking of doing? Riding it out to the end? Interviewing outside of HCV? Going for Abbvie on the chance that the non compete will not be enforced? From the little research I have done it does not appear that Vertex would have to follow the "WARN" policy of giving 60 days notice as less than 33% of the employees would probably be laid off. Any thoughts?

Also, what exactly are the "issues" with 135? There's so much conjecture but little in the way of info... someone has to have an idea. And if this is true, wouldn't law require notifying the FDA and thus wouldn't it have been shut down and therefore we would know as opposed to guessing... right?

First of all the FDA knows about the "issues' as do I, second of all where in the he$$ to you come up with 33%. do you really believe the lies?

In order to qualify for the rules governing a 2 month WARN period prior to layoffs (google it; it's a law), a company must layoff more than 33% of its employees. THAT's where I got 33%.

And since I am assuming field employees would fall under the Cambridge umbrella, and there are approx 1200 Cambridge employees, approx 350-400 peeps would need to be laid off to meet the 33% (percentages are per the law) and require a 60 day WARN period (a warning of an upcoming layoff) as opposed to just being told today that it's your last day and you are done and here's your severance.

Most home office would be safe (CF, research, HR, some or marketing and training), thus I am not sure if that number would be met by just field sales, management, TE's, KAM, and some of marketing and training.
