So what do you think about the comp plan?

Considering making a move to Olympus but i've heard about all the changes and RIF going on. Is this a bad move? Will there be another major RIF? Please help asap...thanks!

I agree... they are milking everything they can out of our divisions... Endotherapy was cut because it just wasn't driving revenue or margins...

Medical Products reps on the other hand, have to be some of the most revenue generating reps in the industry.

We can thank all of this to the Japanese economic bubble that burst in the 80's...

Or the missing money that took Olympus off the Tokyo stock exchange. Read up people...this is bigger than your precious new products that can be sold off or put in someone elses bag in a day.

Missing from the Tokyo stock exchange? I'm curious of what you are insinuating?

I don't think anyone at our level has any idea what REALLY happened, but it seems that the overpayment in these acquisitions were basically made on balance sheets after all was said and done, so they could absorb the stock market losses.

I believe there are parts of this company that could be sold, but for one thing, the sales force would seem to be safe for the most part, for at least 12-18 months anyways...
That said, I don't see how they can afford to sell certain divisions within Medical, because as its been astutely pointed out, we are the reason there are companies clamoring to throw 1.7 billion dollars at the company, and the only way they can show any hope of profitability. The walls would literally have to fall down before they sold the Medical Products division, and it would have to take a substantial need to want to sell off the Gyrus piece as well at this point. Market share is king!

This is total BS, from someone who is either new to the business, or just stupid. The company wants to remain independant, but will not be able to go it alone. They may have covered up losses, but the problem lays in the company being devauled by 80% and still not correcting the situation with leadership. Shit runs down hill, and the sales force will be hit hard in the US, no cuts in Japan right? I write this from CV. You are a complete Jack off!

Agree for the most part. The post saying we r safe is from someone wo a clue how these corporations work. Olympus is dumb enough to think they can keep market share with less people. They have to do something to make up the money they were funneling to organized crime.

One of the real problems is capital reps selling a crappy ET line. JT and RH are forcing the reps to take the eye off the ball. This will not help in keeping market share. Also the great idea to reduce commissions. What motivation are they giving the reps to go out and kill it. None at all. I hope that the Gyrus management can step in and help fix these unreasonable decisions.

For once your asked to actually sell, and instead of stepping up to the challenge like many of your co-workers you come here and whine like a little kid. Put your big boy pants on and go out and sell or leave if you think its better.

well look like a gyrus run company with Todd f taking over. Bet middle management is now worried a little . But hey we still have tri port . until they do not renew our contract becauae of low sales volume

Yea, that is it. First time we are asked to sell. Boy you just nailed it. Make sure you donate to jt's foundation. Remember that selling et is entry level. And now that I have my experience I sell to make money. Alot of money and this has now become a entry level job for sheep who are willing to think this is now the big leagues. Good luck with your job of actually selling while you never make the next level of pif and I am sure your family will enjoy your big checks of 2 percent of your 8 dollar forcep. Man you really are a big time rep.
And if this is a se rep then you are fooling yourself if you think you are actually selling. I have seen the numbers and only 20percent made quota. Just because it is hard to sell a product does not mean you actually sell. It means you took a job no one wanted and your are failing at it. Or are you one of the 20 percent tough guy?

See ya maybe the group will be a little more positive without you.
