So what do you think about losing the fleet car?

Well it's been in discussion for some time now but actually happening. Reps will transition to monthly car allowance format once their vehicles hit the end of their fleet life cycle (75k miles or 3 years). What do you all think about that?

It sucks. You have to buy a good car within expected requirements (one of which it needs to have a value over 30k) and the car can't be more than 5 years old. You also have to purchase a required amount of insurance. All maintenance is on your dime such as repairs, gas, tires. Once the car reaches 5 years old, you need to buy another one or you won't get fully reimbursed. All the worry and risk is on you, not the company. The very best case scenario and you are lucky too if you break even. If you like the idea of picking your own car and running into it in the ground with a lot of mileage then you might be satisfied but it certainly isn't the best option.

Whatever, you can buy a brand new Chevy Volt and come out $25 per month. Shut up bitch.

Don't like it one bit especially because it is a lose proposition for the reps and margin for management. You are limited in what you will be able to buy in terms of size mileage etc. insurance needs to be commercial and within 2 years your car is shot, dinged up from parking lots. If the allocation was reasonable then maybe but 20 years ago it was like $825 then companies started to base their allowance on what they were paying from GE, Wheels etc meaning it dropped to about $550. Correct me if I'm wrong but my strategic platform includes payment insurance plates and it doesn't cover the payment. Add the wear and abuse, tires , maintenance and a minimum amount of options as it is an office after all and you can kiss leasing goodbye as you would overshoot your annual mileage after about 8 months.

No siree don't like it one bit if you are constantly on the road.

You should lease. No way a piece of shit would go over in mileage, you have to work to do that.

The only postings that are defending going to Runzheimer are people like SC. Isn't it obvious to everyone that this again is another thing that will make it easier for the company when they lay off the sales force. Just like someone noted earlier, you now will have to purchase a 30k+ car and will probably be laid off in 6 months. None of this is adding up anymore. For the idiots that keep thinking this is a good thing, please go out and buy a Mercedes or BMW. You're worth it.

How in the hell can they dictate the "value" of the car? If I want to go buy a 2 year old domestic sedan for $22K - one that I can afford the car payment on, because if MNK goes away it's MINE and I still have to make the payments, what is wrong with that? I will tell them to go to hell and not bend to the $30K requirement. You take away my fleet vehicle, I will buy what I can afford, I have other financial obligations and will not take on a $500/mth car payment, especially since I don't think MNK will be around in 2016.

Unfortunately they don't give a shit about you. Check Runzheimer and look a the requirements yourself. If you don't meet the requirements, you won't get paid. They don't care. They went to this program as they are expecting the company to be sold so they can walk away with big bucks.
