Hello folks,

New to the board, trying to do some research on biogen. Just got offered a position as an MSL in the MS/Neuroimmunology TA.

Currently work as a clinical pharmacist. I have a pretty comfortable, well paying job (relative to most pharmacists)

Current job:
  • 9-5, M-F, no evening, no weekends
  • Make about 170K a year + I get another 10K a year or so by selling 2 weeks worth of PTO and another week of EDU days
  • I get 36 days of PTO a year (I sell 10 days a year back)
Also have a decent pension that obviously continues to grow as I stay longer. I get all the normal health benefits and retirement savings plans/life insurance etc.

Should I leave this for an MSL position at Biogen. I know the answer "depends" on what I want etc. I'm just wondering if Biogen is a shit show and I will regret leaving my cushy/safe/comfortable job for some company that is circling the toilet.

TIA

If you are happy where you are, then please stay clear of Biogen. It is a mess, especially on the MS side.

It would be like climbing aboard the Titanic after it hit the ice berg.

Being an MSL can be a good life but not at Biogen. Steer clear of this dump. Keep looking.

without reveling to much personal info. Are you speaking from first hand knowledge? (i.e as an MSL, or maybe some one from the commercial side?)

During the interview with the field medical folks several of them mentioned how great of a culture there was at Biogen and the encouraged "speaking up"

ZERO benefit to you to come here. In fact, you will ruin your reputation.

Unfortunately, I am speaking from first-hand knowledge of this clown show of a company.

The culture here is a healthy mix of failure, depression, and woke-fest circle jerk. I don't know what the fuck you are talking about with the "speaking up" part.

Take the job if you are desperate. Don't take it if you have a good job presently.

Actually, do whatever you want. I don't give a fuck. This place sucks.

Okay thanks for the honest feedback. I hope that you are able to find job soon that you don't hate.

We ALL are hoping to find a job we don't hate! If this was 6 years ago, I'd tell you to come running over. It was a great place to work... Leadership has ruined every aspect of what used to be good.

Yeah I hear ya.. crazy how things can change so quickly.

At least you got that Pharma experience. So if things don’t get better you will hopefully find a more satisfying job. Thanks for the feedback again and best of luck!
