So Quiet

It has really quieted down on pharma cafe for B+L. It must be because Valeant has given the remaining employees a clear vision of their future and the employees for the most part are satisfied with it.

Valeant is a much better company than WP. The no research or marketing philosophy of Valeant must have sunk in and all are pretty much content with the hustle and bustle of getting the few remaining projects in the pipeline through the FDA.

Not a great place for a long term career unless you are focused primarily on manufacturing. But if in the short run if you are getting a good paycheck not so bad.

Can't wait for the "Great place to work survey" to see what lies are told.

How many of you out there are 50. How many were recently hired and are 50. If you are 50 please know its the new 60. Get those 1099 jobs and have fun. We are not concerned about your sales performance. Chow babe

Anyone remember when years ago, some genius from some ivory tower that is now nearly vacant somewhere near the east coast had ATK come in and whack like 20% of the workforce just weeks before a "great place to work survey?" Funny thing, then all the directors and VPs spent the next couple months scratching their heads wondering why they got torn apart in the survey? Senior level management at its finest. Yep. Sad thing is, most of those worthless scumbags who contributed to that madness are still employed w/ B+L.

First of all, yes it has become strangely quiet here. I wonder if that's because the people making all the noise for the past 2 months were let go. Secondly, the *focused primarily on manufacturing* part of the post is puzzling. Manufacturing a product to sell is the whole point of existence in this industry. So if your job is not directly related to or supporting manufacturing, then you don't belong here anyway and were likely expensive overhead that should have been eliminated a long time ago with or without a Valeant buyout. B+L had been through so many things like *flatten and broaden* over the past decade or so, that most of the direct labor vaporized and all that remained were vice-presidents that were vice presidenting directors who were directing no one. So yes, it should go without saying that any long term career expectations here are only in manufacturing or manufacturing support roles as that is the road to revenue generation, profitability, and a sustainable long term presence in the markets that Valeant / B+L competes in.

OK - so what about pipeline development? You can only milk a product line for 10, maybe 15 years at the most before you're selling things @ cost. Got to have a vision and evolve.
