Shares of Warner Chilcott (Nasdaq: WCRX) rallied more than 30 percent in Friday's pre-market session following word from the London Times Bayer could be ready to make a $32 per share bid for the company.

Wouldn't that be a good thing? All the talk here is about how aweful WC is, so wouldn't people celebrate this? Also, Bayer would need reps to sell WC's drugs so why wouldn't they keep those who are already trained and in place?

Are you kidding me? You really think Bayer would hire WCRX reps? They have to create "synergies". Guess what that means and who are the "synergies". Let's see, they can sell Yaz but need WCRX reps to sell these crappy knock off OCs?

Oh yeah I forgot what a great job you have done selling Actonel and Atelvia (help me please I can't drink my morning coffee and take my bisphosphonate), Asacol, Enablex and Doryx. Outside of Doryx have ANY of these products actually grown in volume since they were acquired?

Absolutely nothing but share loss, managed care coverage losses, and price increases to mask the problem. I'm sure the cream puffs at Bayer will welcome this bunce of morons with open arms. Right!

The end of Warner Chilcott

It's all coming together. If you think Bayer just all of the sudden thought about purchasing WC you are dead wrong. WC is in negotiations to sell WC to Bayer.
The federal investigation is at the center of the sale. WC probably agreed to break up the company and get rid of the sales/marketing/bribeforce in a deal to escape prosecution, fines and jail time.
The $ offer per share is because the parts are worth more than the whole.

I guess losing your jobs is better than going to jail.

For someone just hired, will there be a severence package? If so, about how much?

How in the world do you expect someone on cafepharma do be able to answer that question? You will get tons of speculation, but NOBODY knows. You are assuming that there will be a sale to Bayer, yet there is not a single news article that shows that an offer ACTUALLY occurred, or that a sale to Bayer is imminent.

Why dont you just do your job, and stop reacting to rumors. When/if the time comes, you can ask HR about a severance. There is no written policy on this matter, so no one can answer your question.

Are you saying that WC doesn't have a written severance policy that all employees can read on the employee/company website? All companies have written severance policies so they don't get sued by employees when there are mass layoffs. If this crappy company doesnt have a website, you should be able to call HR and get a copy.

It would not surprise me if Roger is shopping the company around to raise the stock price. Then he sells the stock the buyout falls apart and he buys the stock back at a discount.

Sorry to break it to you bud, but nobody wants or is in a bidding war over this sales force. We are viewed as a liability rather than an asset.

BS. Everyone wants this bunce of "Type A" crazies. We are reknowned in the industry and respected over the "Cream Puffs" at AZ, Bayer, and all those other idiotic pharma companies. They have so much to learn from us on how to sell, act professional, and persevere. They are not buying the brands. They are buying the best sales force in the industry. LMAO.
