It would be nice to have some sort of heads up... initial emails said we could have a car as soon as Jan if the process moves forward.
Make it like cafepharma, but for different industries: over the years we’ve had suggestions for creating a site similar to cafepharma, but for different industries. Now there is a place. Check out CompanyUnderground for company forums in other industries. Don’t see a company? Request it here. Let your friends and family outside the pharma/medical sales space know they now have a safe, anonymous place to talk.
Yes....It would be nice to hear something. Need to do something with car soon and do not want to buy if company vehicle is coming in early 2015.
What is with the letter stating your taxed on some mileage reimbursement
the IRS allows a certain amount for use of personal car for business. I think right now it is .55 /mile. If your monthly car allowance ($600) plus the .19 /mile you get for actual driving divided by the number of miles driven is more than .55 you are taxed on the excess.

I'm not so sure I want a company car. I mean that would be an $8-10,000 pay cut since the car allowance and mileage would go away. I mean yes, having a new car and gas card would be nice but.....
This is not a good deal for part timers. $300 per month plus you are taxed on personal miles. I drive a car with good gas mileage, so this does not make sense. I vote no.
How do you figure that?
I do not feel I am making money on the car reimbursement. If anything, I am destroying my car and could never buy another on what we are paid...We are not being paid enough for using it and all the expenses involved in keeping and driving the hell out of it.
I vote company car.
I don't owe any money on my car and insurance and maintenance is maybe $250-300 a month so with allowance and mileage, I'm making money on the car allowance deal.
