So are we getting cars?

What is with the letter stating your taxed on some mileage reimbursement

the IRS allows a certain amount for use of personal car for business. I think right now it is .55 /mile. If your monthly car allowance ($600) plus the .19 /mile you get for actual driving divided by the number of miles driven is more than .55 you are taxed on the excess.

How do we know if we are taxed?

Has anyone heard anything from their managers or other reps about company cars update? Originally it said we may hear something in January. After ordering, it will take months for the car to arrive. I'm really hopeful.

I'm not so sure I want a company car. I mean that would be an $8-10,000 pay cut since the car allowance and mileage would go away. I mean yes, having a new car and gas card would be nice but.....

How do you figure that?

I do not feel I am making money on the car reimbursement. If anything, I am destroying my car and could never buy another on what we are paid...We are not being paid enough for using it and all the expenses involved in keeping and driving the hell out of it.

I vote company car.

This is not a good deal for part timers. $300 per month plus you are taxed on personal miles. I drive a car with good gas mileage, so this does not make sense. I vote no.

Personally I drive a 2011 moped and only spend $2 a month on gas. If you get the saddle bags and back pack you can carry a great amount of sample, iPad and supplies.

I don't owe any money on my car and insurance and maintenance is maybe $250-300 a month so with allowance and mileage, I'm making money on the car allowance deal.

Agreed. I too am not in favor of company cars as I benefit more financially from the current structure. If you are unsure which option benefits you just do the math.

The silence is deafening. I need to put $1000s into my car for maintenance. If we are getting company cars, I could hold off. Has anyone heard anything regarding a timeline if we are actually getting cars.
