The "deep end" refers to a swimmingpool. ... If they get in trouble and can't swim, they can just stand up in the water. Saying "throw someone in at the deep end" means to give them something much more challenging than they are able to handle and with no way to get help if they can't handle it.

Sounds about right. ‘No way to get help.’ The company is failing its sales force. TN is an absolute joke and SG is just one of his minions drinking the cool aid. I’m my final stages of interviewing and can’t wait to get away from these self absorbed jerks. This ship is going down fast
