Should I work for B&L?

Interviewed for a position a few weeks ago...gone through reference checks and have been told that an offer is being prepared. Given that the company has gone private...it's difficult to find any up to date financial info. How's has this place been doing since the recall and going private? Has it done well enough to pay out bonuses to employees? Should I even consider working here?

Thanks!

Stupid question. If you don't have a job take the job. If you have a job that is stable keep it.

It is painfully obvious that a Privately owned company that has indicated that they want to sell the company is not a stable job regardless of the finances. Nobody knows what the finances of this company are because the private equity owner could be stealing all the profits from B+L or they could be investing billions in order to make B+L a viable company.

Sounds like you don't currently have a job. Just take it. I will help you pay this months rent.

Umm...not a stupid question. I'm just starting to really research the company and am hoping to learn more about it. I did not know that the company is for sale...and based on your ignorant reply, I'm not sure I should believe you so I'll keep digging.

I have a job. A pretty good and stable one at that. The role I interviewed for would be a step up for me and would come with a nice increase in pay...so I'm trying to weigh the risk/reward.

If you have a good job don't even think about leaving it for B&L. Huge mistake. You are warned. Old products. Company not stable. If you are in the east the director d g is ok. If you are in the west under k k forget about it.

First, read the other threads. For 2010, our goal for steroid line was 104M we hit 97M. The goal for 2011 is 127M for steroids. The company cannot hit its sales goals - we are losing money. The field sales force as a whole has not performed well and WP is disappointed. If you have stable, decent job now stay where you are. The environment here is unstable, unethical and has no long term potential.

Thanks for the feedback. Seems like most posters on this board are in a sales role...I interviewed for a technical role based out of the Rochester site. Guess it doesn't matter since sales of current products sustains the company and feeds it's ability to generate new ones. Anyone out there have first hand experience working within the corp. office setting in Rochester? The good, bad, ugly?

Thanks!

I was offered a job in Rochester and turned it down. I insisted on a change of ownership clause in my employment contract as surgical and pharma are no longer based there. They refused. The thinking is that whoever will end up taking this company from Fred Hassan's reigns will keep the name and let most of the rest of it go. No one wants to live up in Rochester and this would be a huge obstacle in re-commercializing the name B&L with new management and structure. No quality upper management is going to move their families up there in the middle of a ghetto-like atmosphere. Watch out.

If you interviewed for a tech role in rochester and posted that on this site forget about taking the job. They monitor this board. Also previous post dead on. Do nOt move to Rochester for a job. If you live there already. Ok fine. But. Company will be sold and whoever takes it will close down Rochester ASAP. Even new flag ship main building is for sale for the past year and no one has bought it. Look it up.
