Should I make the switch?

Device Rep 2020

New Member
I recently was scouted out for the PNT division (Women’s Health) of Natera. I currently work in Med Device with one of the largest companies in the market. I carry roughly 350 products with Med Device and have roughly 55 hospitals in my region. Pay wise, my salary would actually increase moving to Natera. I would only carry 5 main products as well. Is the switch worth it, or should I stay with Med Device?

Sounds like you work for a Cardinal or some sort of company similar with that large catalogue of products. Culturally I think diagnostics feels more like pharma vs medical device. More security with the higher base but less on the comp. Those large device companies don’t pay as well as they use to so why not give diagnostics a try. Every company has pros and cons. If you aren’t happy with what you are doing now give it a shot. Worst case go back to medical device. I really not a bad job.

Device is a tough gig and you're not making $ anymore. That boom is oover. more products less pay higher quotas bigger territories and more layoffs and realignemnt than the pharma industry now plus top leaders who havent been in the field in years nor know your products or customers

make the jump to genetics. some days you'll be bored like a pharma rep, but paid more. money is king.
