California gives 52 weeks of short term disability. You will then be terminated when return. You should then receive your severence package.

People on STD have been laid off with this company. They just don't get to find out until they "return to work"

During the December 2010 layoffs many reps who were on short term disability were called by their FLMs and informed that they were laid off. Most FLMs don't realize that they are not supposed to contact reps while on disability and many others simply do not care.
