Shire will be Restructuring Territories

An outside 3rd party company will be restructuring zip codes in major markets where volume has fallen in certain territories according to multiple sources. I don't know how this will exactly change the number of reps we have or not but I guess we will see soon.

There is not an exact number of reps that will be let go. They will analyze the access/no access issues and look at volume and decide whether territories are worth keeping for the company or not. This is just smart business...if there is not enough volume to keep a terriotry there than give the extra volume to other reps close by and that saves $ for the company and is just smart business. All companies do this to stay

I heard they will be doing this to territories in the Northeast, parts of Midwest, as well as the Northwest. I know it is the ADHD business unit and this will help as the company launces new indications for Vyvanse and to have just enough reps as they become a viable CNS Unit.

By the end of the summer to get ready for back to school and future indication for Vyvanse. It will be done on a region by region basis and is not necessarily a corporate iniative. The Zone Director is asked to do what is best for the business and if they have territories within the zone that qualify for this restructuring than it will be done. This will not be any sort of big lay-offs or big announcement but only to be as nimble and smart as possible going forward.

Reps that territories are eliminated will be offered these open territories and most likely they will not want to relocate and will take a severance and move on. It is smart business if there are territories that don't need to be there are to give quality volume to the territories right next to them. Business is business

Territories open are in Mississippi, Georgia, and Texas...Have fun working with Totty and Kirby in those Zones...Kirby is good but Totty is death...He is the highest turnover in the pharma industry and I am not sure why Shire keeps him around

Who says layoffs? All the new regulations with call adherance and a focus on expenses being extremely accurate. Seems like corporate is sharpening the pencil and getting ready to let some sales people go....

What do you think?

What do I think????? I don't know let me see, hmmmmm. I guess if you can't make 7 calls a day and see all of your drs, oh and yeah, screw up your expense report using your company credit card then I guess we could always send you to presidents club. Idiot!!!!!!!!

I think this is true. My RD alluded to this today and then he tried to backtrack. Do whatever you can to keep your volume high and make sure you can get 6/7 calls per day done!

You are such an idiot; how many RDs/reps had that conversation yesterday?

How about you spend more time hitting goal attainment and less posting obvious threads on CafePharma.
