Shire Employees at Synergy?

So I have to ask, what is with all the Shire retreads at Synergy? While I understand there was a layoff in the PA area, who had the brilliant idea to hire every Shire loser to lead this start-up company. What do you all know about the senior leadership that have relocated to Synergy? Any insight is welcomed because many of us left good jobs to join this promising company that is floundering based on shoddy leadership.

The question you should be asking is what's up with Shire's current leadership? They are the retreads from MULTIPLE companies and have fucked up the business model and morale everywhere they've been.

By retreads you must be referring to Marianne J and Lindsay J. Isn’t Matt H there too? Sorry, you did get the retreads.
What exactly is a "retread" Someone who doesn't stay at the same pharma company their whole career? If so then I guess almost everyone I have ever worked for or with is a retread. Or maybe you, the one who sits for 20 years as a PC rep and complains while doing nothing about their situation is the problem here?

No. I would say a retread is someone that was effective at one place so they and their mediocre friend all come to a new company. No diversity of thought. No ability to create a vision. Can’t manage themselves, let alone a sales force. Spend money like they are still at Shire vs. start up. People that bread fear and distrust. People without a vision that stayed too long at Shire based on their lack of skills and then because they are buddies, come on to a new company and destroy the possibility of success there because they have no one around them who actual know how to lead. Yes, that sums it up.

Shire became a political, back stabbing graveyard shortly after April 1, 2013. Many proud and overall successful managers found the world falling apart around them. Shire had been so successful for so long that there were comfortable layers of management, and yes some were promoted beyond where they had true capability.

Once exposed to the new "One Shire" way with a few new commercial heads PS and KS, the political daggers began to fly and the once comfortable promoted beyond capability Shire leaders didn't stand a chance.

They huddled together and found smaller companies of refuge locally, and such it is with Synergy. Sorry, but you didn't get the best or the brightest Shire had to offer.

On the other hand, Shire has become a pretty miserable place to be right now. Just read this board.

Thank you for that insight. Promoted beyond capability is an excellent description. I have been shocked at how poor the entire leadership team has been, but your explaination makes sense. They all landed here in their dream job, where they over titled and over paid themselves. Happy as pigs in you know what. Till they realized they couldn’t manage a budget let alone a team. It has been a horrible experience and I doubt the company will make it to 2019. But after your explanation, it sounds like it was simply weak leaders, in over their heads and we all suffer based on their incompetence. Thanks for the perspective.
