New analysis of real world data by Department of defense shows reduced hospitalization and primary prevention for all SGLT2 drugs . No indication YET , but this study will have a significant impact on physicians. No indication for weight loss but Doctors believe SGLT2 's help patients lose weight. I believe management knew of this study and the decision to drastically cut reps is the result .

SGLT2s are basically a CHF drug. no effect on MI, strokes and traditional CV events. Their outcomes mainly related to reductions in CHF and sudden death which is most often rhythm disturbance.
the news and the companies don't tell the details and by using composite endpoints it makes it appear the drugs lower CV events in general. really just a good effect on CHF. which is not surprising given that the drugs act as diuretics. but good for CHF patients
and no its not good news for januvia but they are overselling its benefits
