Severance Package

Does anyone know the answer to this question? If we were displaced on 1/19/12 and then get a job with another pharmaceutical company on 2/20/12 would we still receive our severance package? Also, would we still be paid by Takeda until 3/31/12?

Thanks!

good question. it seems to read in the severance FAQ's that you may have to pay severance back pro-rated if you get a job within 12 months!!!

how will Takeda know if you get another job unless you tell them?

Morality quandary: All depends on how honest and ethical you are.

Facts: Takeda got rid of you...Not the other way around.

Conundrum: Now you have to ask yourself a simple question, "Do you give a fuck about Takeda"?

Solution: Take the new job...Don't tell a living sole that is somehow connected Takeda and be happy!

Not true. You only have to pay it back if you return to Takeda within 12 months. If you get a job before March 31st, you still get the severance package but you drop off regular payroll. It's good to tell the company the truth so you don't get pinched when your new company calls to check references.

I got a job 3weeks after first layoff two years ago. Collected severance, banked it and never missed a pay cycle! I wouldn't lie if asked but there really is no way for them to know!

Worked out for me too! I got an offer within the first month. When your future employer calls Takeda to verify employment, all they do is refer them to the work number for verification. Takeda will never know if you acceptna job.

I got another pharma job a month after being let go last during the first round of layoffs. I double dipped the entire time with multiple takeda people seeing me in the field. Who cares about takeda or from what I've heard the new TAP? The money is called severance pay, I was severed, the money is mine because I found another job quickly doesn't change the fact takeda let me go. Good luck to all that we're displaced.
