Serious question about IDEXX

I'm looking at a position of Diagnostic Practice Consultant I with IDEXX. Can anyone tell me what the pay structure and salary range is like? Any other information would be appreciated too. eg auto allowance/co. car, etc. Thanks!

The DPC role has a low base salary and then comp on top of it- the base is as low as 40k. Bonus is paid quarterly based on tiered goals- mostly capital equipment. When I was a DPC I made about 90k to 100k but I was one of the top 20 reps and hit my goals all the time. It is a thankless job because they make the DPC do everything and the equipment goals are very unrealistic. The average life of the DPC is like 3 years before they want to do something else. Also they don't pay the reps to maintain the business so the vets are starting to hate us when we tell them we are with Idexx. The lab reps make like $150 but the Cornerstone reps make almost $200. Crazy. The health benefits are good and they have 401 and profit sharing. They just treat their reps like crap now.

are you stuck on the animal/vet side of medical, if you take this job? that is a concern.

How about the Northeast corridor, call it Virginia to NYC? Management, style/philosophy, QOL, etc?

Look, I am a DPC now. Regardless of where you are at, you are going to work. So what? IDEXX is a good company. Yes, the goals are high and by no means are we perfect. I am in a culture and environment that is genuine and WANTS TO WIN. My base has gone up 10% in a year and I have only been with the company a year. I started at 50 and will I have no problems MAINTAINING my current support base and meeting existing quarterly goals. It's all about prioritizing.

If prioritizing you mean lying and screwing your clients over, have at it. The DPC is the shit job at Idexx. I was one for 10 years before resigning when my code of ethics prevented me from continuing. And I made P Club 6 out of those 10 years so it had nothing to do with my sales ability. Did they find you at a military hiring? because thats all they want now- military guys who can follow dirsction and keep their mouths shut. That's a GREAT culture. Have fun raping the vets with Catalyst and Procyte. And then don't go back in there till you need to sell more capital. Good job.

Yes. We will match Antechs offer but also involves a 5 year contract and the $'s are a loan that is not forgiven until you complete term of contract just the same as Antechs deal. I would not recomend that a client do this with either of us. Rather get the best deal or up front offer and be free to switch companies whenever you feel you can get better service or pricing elsewhere.
