Strativa sales,
Never in my life have I ever worked for an organization that doesn't know the meaning of the word "communication". I am not trying to be smart but I will define it according to one of the many dictionaires available dictionary;
"Any act by which one person gives to or receives from another person information about that person's needs, desires, perceptions, knowledge, or affective states. Communication may be intentional or unintentional, may involve conventional or unconventional signals, may take linguistic or nonlinguistic forms, and may occur through spoken or other modes."
It sounds fairly simple right? I would say that any organization in the world, either profit or non profit, will only survive if communication between it's employees is strong. This is where Strativa, especially middle and senior management miss the boat entirely. I am not trying to say that I would do a better job but at least I would try. I have seen "zero" attempt from any level of management to push, criticise, condemn, encourage, etc the members of the sales force. I wouldn't even mind if I got a call from the home office telling me that "I suck or what a great job I have been doing" but there is nothing. Oh sure there has been the national conference call, calls from our DM or calls from other peers but that is it.
Whatever happened to cross training, monthly conference calls where members can share best practices or bad sales days, etc. I hate to say it but I have to agree with previous posters about how many middle level and senior managers will each walk away with substantial amounts of money from the buyout. If that is the case than fine I am happy for you but don't forget you all still have a job to do as members of the sales force and that is to develop and train your people. If none of you want to partake in that than please do us all a favor and at least be honest to the future candidates that will be interviewing for this company until our final days.
I hope that we all can share a drink at the NSM and "bury the hachete" between field sales, home office, middle and upper management because I truely believe that if we had the right management in place than our sales numbers would be very impressive considering the obvious. I cannot be the only one thinking this and I know for a fact that many managers feel the same way but are afraid to voice their concerns.
If all of our futures are condenmed with the merger than so be it but wouldn't we all like to go out with a bang? Or are many of you hoping that this administration will take care of you and your families no matter what? Unfortunately I cannot take that chance.
Sincerely,
Concerened Employee
