I have received an offer at Mallinckrodt. I have never worked in the Pharma industry before and this represents my first offer after months of searching with entry-level qualifications.

Please tell me what the pros and cons are to accepting this offer. As the board is already full of snarky comments - serious replies are appreciated.

Dude or Dudette seriously, you've been searching for months with entry level qualifications. If it were me I wouldn't care, its a job that pays well you get your foot in the i dustry then you move on if its unbearable. No job today is perfect, if your manager is good then that's all you need. It will take you 6 months to be up and running and once you're employed its easier to find another job.

Don't overthink it, just do your job don't worry about anyone else then if you're not really happy move on AND you will have experience. If its bad then you know what not to do, if its good grow from it.

Good luck

THIS POST IS A COMPLETE FABRICATION. NEVER IN THE INDUSTRY YET TROLL THIS BOARD. AS LAME AS THIS COMPANY IS THEY WOULD NEVER HIRING SOMEONE WITH NO EXPERIENCE. GO AWAY.

Thanks for your input. Hope your week gets better.

Hey OP if this is the only opportunity to get into pharma then why not take it, but manage your expectations of this company. The stock has completely tanked over the last 1.5 years, although its making a small comeback. Upper management is a bunch of tools that could literally fuck up a wet dream. There is ZERO loyalty in this company, Your manager will be the first person to throw you under the bus if it comes to it (pretty much industry standard). And heres the fun part, the reps (your co-workers). They have to be the most disgruntled, self entitled, fat, whiney, complainers that have ever wondered the earth. Don't get me wrong there are some really good ones but the majority are self-entitled brats that couldn't make it in big pharma so they landed here (yeah I'm talking about the ALL CAPS GUY) They will tell you how great they are, they will avoid talking to you, they will treat you like their retarded cousin but the reality is they are just mad because they couldn't make it anywhere else.

So take the job just to get experience and get out. It will be an uphill battle because you lack experience but hey we all have to start somewhere, right?

Good Luck

No problem. My weeks great. My numbers are growing and above target for another quarter. I have had a good experience at Mallinckrodt. I don't bitch like most these Douche bags. There just unhappy with themselves.
Just saying, if you don't have experience and long standing relationships within the hospitals. And I am talking about good inside track relationships with key decision makers. You will fucking choke.
You will be out of the loop of key processes, and have no influence.
Who is the retarded manager that would even consider!
I would like to bitch slap some sense into that fucker.
