Sebela Women's division?

I had a recruiter contact me about a new division with Sebela pharmaceuticals in Women's Health. Has anybody else been contacted? He sounded like I would be pushed forward for an interview, but I haven't heard anything else. Anybody else have an interview scheduled? Sounded like a good opportunity and good $.

Yes - instead of expanding their Buttocks Division, which currently sells/promotes ANALpram they are establishing a new Women's division, rebranding Analpram and will market it as "VAGIpram". Amazing how lucrative topical/insertable corticosteroids can be.

FYI - are you serious.... good $$$, establishing a new division???

No way - this is someone posting here to remove their company from the top of the list. Been done many times before. Hilarious!!!

Well thanks for the crude response above. Another jaded rep in pharma I can see.
Base is 65-75k. Quarterly bonus is around 6k (so somewhat low), company car is Altima. Would be selling a menopause medication.

Not a rep ... but seasoned, experienced pharma/biotech professional who finds these types of posts filarious. Perhaps you can figure that out.

In any event, how the hell do you characterize a base of 65k and quarterly bonus of $6k (not guaranteed for sure and probably half that), an Altima and nothing else as good $$$$? You must be working at Starbuck's as a barista. That would explain the enthusiasm over a topical treatment for menopause, or perhaps your a butt person and got excited to know that you woudl be spending 25% of your time focusing on butt doctors discussing the anal cavity and clear benefits of your leading product, ANALpram.

Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

Sorry! Agreed - based upon your situation, this might be a great opportunity. Be careful though, as the bonus will most likely be much less than you expect. Thus, you should try to negotiate a slightly higher base if you have the experience and past salary history to support. Good luck!

I had the same call. Who ever is the Jack a$$ who is responding. Stop with your negativity. The bas is not bad and the woman's health drug is a great drug. Goo luck with the interviewing

Is the women's health product "female" Viagra? If so, agreed --- that would be the perfect fit in Sebela's portfolio. It would take care of both ends with the availability of their lead product, Analpram. I envision a lot of tag teaming at the sales meeting. Ha ha!!!

the product is Brisdelle for hot flashes. It is a good opportunity but the territory I interviewed for was huge. The DM said as the company grows territories will shrink.

Good luck selling against all of the generic versions of paroxetine (eg., Paxil). Based upon past and recent experience, you simply can't succeed when the generics erode the brand space, even with a new indication, branding, marketing campaign.

Makes sense why Noven is selling the asset or more like "off-loading" it to Sebela.

Word to the wise, when the product isn't new and has generic competition, run for another opportunity!

So true

I turned down the job opportunity and kind of regret it. The management seemed great and the drug makes sense. I am already in a predicament of selling against a wide range of generics and it's exhausting and futile. I couldn not do it again. Good luck to all of you who jumped on the opportunity because I think it is great. I hope to hear more positive things in the future about this company and the drugs!
Good luck

Good management and good people in the trenches will not overcome the issues of generic competition / erosion with the current market conditions. Drug prices are "king" when it comes to formulary selection and preference. If generic paroxetine can be prescribed for menopausal symptoms - it simply will be prescribed and preferred. Differentiation of brand beyond the name and price, will simply not cut it anymore.

Good luck to anyone who signed on with Sebela. We'll be wishing you well but recommending you make the most of a bad situation and keep your eyes open for other opportunities.

For insight an this company, product and management; see the thread under Noven Pharmaceuticals.
The product and the people are the same.
The product is a total dog.
It is an old boy's club- style management.
Pay is low.
