Scrubs in the field

Been seeing reps wearing scrubs. Thought it was just their company. Now I have an office requesting reps that want to come in wear scrubs because they are more sanitary?

How are scrubs more sanitary than other clothing? Reps still go into multiple offices in what they’re wearing. But that sounds easier to me if the offices are on board. Are the reps wearing sneakers?

At end of day you can wash scrubs in hot water as opposed to quality clothing that may require dry cleaning or is hand wash only.

Scrubs can be washed. Many dress pants and suits can only be dry cleaned. Actually makes sense in this environment. Most of the docs that used to wear dress pants are wearing scrubs now. Sneakers, loafers or those clog looking shoes are what I’m seeing with scrubs.

Unprofessional attire and no top-tier bio or pharma company endorses wearing scrubs to call on customers! How much lower can the professional image of a pharma rep sink to??!! Dress for SUCCESS!!

Actually the days of dressing like a Mortician are over bud. Scrubs blends in to the medical environment and at least gives an appearance to patients the we are part of the team/ office.

No one wears scrubs in my area. No providers.. not doing it. Not professional for a rep going in and out of clinics. And I’ve seen NO other reps wearing them either. Yes they wash easily but really??!

Everyone wears them in my area with absolutely no push back and seems to make everyone much happier...If you dont like them dont wear them if you do...more power to ya! We used to live in a society where people could do their own thing without the mob attacking every personal choice...sadly those days are gone.

I checked with some large accounts in CA. For security reasons, they prohibit industry from wearing scrubs UNLESS you are a device rep in a procedure room. IDN's worry about security and access points with reps. All reps do is deliver food anyways, they don't really sell! Drug reps will cease to exist within 5 years.

Not in my area, came from a device job and had scrubs on most days, esp in hospitals.

Scrubs are nice and easy, but honestly if you are not washing them in between each call then they serve no purpose over normal clothing as far as the safety of the office goes. AZ wears them in my area, I would prefer not to. I think a nice business casual look fits in to the office and that is how most of your providers dress unless they are doing a sick/covid clinic.

You checked with 'some large accounts in CA' about their policy regarding reps wearing scrubs? OK, Cool story.

I think it is a good idea because customers take me much more seriously when I wear scrubs. They perceive me to be their equal and I have much better conversations with them too. Sometimes they even think I am part of the staff and let me stay. It is easier to walk around the facilities in scrubs too because people think I am work there. I am glad I can wear scrubs because I,also look good in them too. I feel like a real professional when I wear them.
