We just got this incredibly long winded ass at Quintiles. He is driving all of us in his district crazy with his tremendously boring conference calls. Any chance we can give this pompous buffoon back to you?

PS- why was he fired from Galderma? Reps killing themself rather than listening to his boring rants?

His philosophy is not about increasing sales numbers, but about doing things his way. His is a way that results from his interpretation of "toeing the line" or "by the book", so what every his little mind formulates based on that, is what will filter down to the reps.
Managers that know how to get business and increase numbers do not need to say a lot. They hire excellent reps, equip them well, and let them go in the field to blow the doors off of the numbers. A verbose manager is a sure sign of someone that is a great administrator in their mind, but in reality is a pathetic leader that will force his team into failure and then blame it on them.
My advice: do as he says when he's around, and then do what really brings the numbers in (compliantly) when he is off tormenting someone else. If you follow him explicitly he will turn you into busy little administrators, and not kick-butt sales people.

He his still with your company or was he let go? His wackey Linkdin profile does not mention your organization. One of the worst sales managers to ever grace this industry.

Good luck, What goes around seems to come around. He probably will not last long at your company if he in fact is even still there.
