Schiffl gone?

Just heard Schiffl is gone. You would think with all the money he brought in for Covidien, they would at least send out an email thanking him for all he did. This company doesn't care about its reps. It treats them like garbage and only has project Hercules in mind. I was a top rep 4 years in a row and am now worried about my job because I am not at plan for the first time. I'm sure more good reps are to follow. Wish you well Schiffel, you were and still are the man! Ps. The last meeting was a blast!

Seriously, you expect Covidien, or any company for that matter, to send an email out thanking you for what you did? That's what you get paid for and what you signed up for when you joined this company. If you're that fucking entitled, its time for you to leave too.
And save the "fuck you" response. You'll just sound like a whiny bitch.

You're right, collectively, Covidien doesn't care about its reps. Covidien cares about increasing profits for it's shareholders, as is their responsibility by law. Do yourself a favor and look out for #1. Don't think for a minute that your RM and/or AVP won't shit-can your ass in a hearbeat if they're told to...it's all about "right-sizing" the sales organization.

If Schiffl is gone, good for him. He had a good run and probably found a better gig. I know for sure he wasn't expecting a thank you note.
 






Don't think the poster was serious about the email going out. The fact of the matter is that I worked with Schiff, and he did a lot for this company and all they did was make it impossible for him to make any money. I know a lot of reps right now are demotivated due to so much attention on getting rid of reps and no attention on top performers or even becoming a top performer. The company used to do a good job recognizing great people, now they just ignore them and their territorial issues. We are at 95% of plan as a company, and now the ramp comes into play! Only 2 regions out of 32 are at plan! I have a surgeon that was suppose to speak for me, and it was cancelled due to budget reasons! Sure lets kill sales activities so that we can continue to decline in sales! Oh I forgot, BD and CB don't care because they will still do well as the quotas are not the number that they forecast to Wall Street!
 






I'm original poster , I was joking about the email. I'm just really frustrated with all the good people leaving. We had the best of the best at one time, reps that other companies would constantly call, and they wouldn't even think about leaving. Now reps are taking whatever they can to get out. How much does it cost to replace a tenured rep that consistently produces year over year. How much business do we lose from surgeons that bought from us based on a relationship. Have fun Ethicon, the door is wide open. I have a feeling that territory and many others will suffer , oh wait, they already are.

I know who you are. You were in the right place at the right time. A monkey could have done what you did. Better yet, switch you with the lowest performing territory and the results in both would be the same. Be glad you were where you were when the wave was high. You are no better than anyone else. Sorry to burst your bubble, top performer. Whatever.

Simmer down there, Sherlock. There are PLENTY of people that benefitted from the "high tide" of energy over the past few years, myself included, but I wouldn't presume to call anyone out for it. Nothing wrong with seizing opportunity, and definitely nothing wrong with being proud of what was accomplished.

Well than I guess I'm a monkey! I can tell you this, I worked hard and developed a under performing territory. I now have about a 90% conversion of Harmonic to Ligasure. So what does that mean? It means I have little to no chance to get recognized on any Sonicision calls. It also means I have little to no chance of hitting my Sonicision number. Do you really believe for 1 minute that I have any future with Covidien based on the vision that exists? I'll answer it for you, NO.

The fact that you believe success over a long period of time is shear luck, tells me you have probably never been successful. I can tell you right now that being in the top 50 year after year is not something that many reps will achieve. Maybe you should just go back to relying on luck and let a few of us vent our frustration. Whose side are you on anyways, I'm guessing you are not a rep!

It's the Covidien way! hey, let's give them quotas that demand 25-30 percent growth, where they know that a great year will be about 10 percent...the number that Wall Street hears about.. That way, they hit their number, reps get fucked and then they have built in excuse to get rid of "under performing" reps... Screw relationships.. They don't care.. Never have and never will...
 






Schiff was a good rep as I am sure the poster of this was. Many good reps are going to leave due to the culture not being what it used to be. We aren't a family any more, we don't believe in the individual, and why I keep saying we I don't know. Their is no more "we" it's everyone for them self. If you don't believe it, than you haven't been here long enough .
