IMO the worst thing about this is how BMS has branded everyone who gets laid off as a loser; making it more difficult for them to get the next job.
A few years back (2006, I think) right before Pfizer had their big layoff, the president or someone said in a public statement that the folks getting laid off had performance problems.
Well, by using warning letters to try to absolve themselves of any liability, it appears BMS is doing the same thing; pre-labeling those who are getting let go as poor performers, making it more difficult to get a job with another pharma company.
You may say-- I've leaving pharma!-- however the fastest way out of unemployment, is to get a job in your current industry. Making a career left turn while unemployed may take considerably longer.
That's my take.
