Sava Senior Care

NO! This company promises huge monthly bonuses and believe me it is out of your control. The management rules like Gestapo agents and you never get a breather on hoidays, are discouraged from taking vacation, etc. Also, the benefits are very weak. Don't even consider!

Stay away!!! Worst sales position you can imagine!!!! Upper management of company does not know what they are doing. They are complete idiots! Bonus is no where near what they say it will be or can be. Benefits are awful. Service and sales on two separate pages-no communication. Many sales reps have come and gone-bad reputation in industry.

I must first start off this post by saying every company has its issues. A lot of sales reps will think that the grass is greener on the other side. It's actually human nature to tend to lean that way.

That being said, if you polled the entire workforce of Sava Senior Care, I bet you would find that well over 90% of the employees want out. In our market, I don't know a single person that is happy with the company. From the DON's to the Rehab Managers, Dietary Managers, Administrators, and especially the sales reps, there really isn't a single person that I've met that enjoys working for this company.

The "grass is greener" phenomenon is pretty common, but the complete lack of satisfaction with a company from nearly everyone is NOT very common.

Prior to taking this position, I did a fair amount of research, including speaking with former employees. There wasn't a single positive comment. However, I took this position because the manager that hired me assured me that he was making positive changes. And my first few months on the job were amazing. I actually thought this manager had turned things around.

It turns out that the manager was let go because they wanted to make positive change in the company. Instead of allowing the sales team to get crucified for numbers being down in the summer, this manager diffused the information so that we wouldn't be negatively impacted by the douche-bags in upper management (whom I've also met).

If you are desperate enough for a job because you are out of work, then the only recommendation I can make is to be sure the building you will be representing is up-to-date, and has good historical census numbers. If it doesn't, you will hate your life, as you will be on census calls every week. In these census calls, they will rip you to shreds, and make you feel as if you are the worst person in the world (this is NOT an exaggeration). People have literally been checked into hospitals for anxiety reasons, or on medications for anxiety.

The management also chose a sales model known as IMPACT from the Brookstone consulting group. If you never had sales experience, it is an excellent model, because it's sequential, and takes you step-by-step in the sales process.

But if you have sales experience, you will want to shoot yourself after listening to these morons everyday, especially after you realize the upper management is some of the most incompetent and unqualified people you've ever met in your life (almost all of them haven't even been in sales for the company before in any capacity). But the thing that will make you hate your life after joining this company, is the fact that these idiots try to use the IMPACT sales model as a way to solve every problem they have internally as well. What that means to you, is you'll have a Regional Director, or your DDSM on the phone not even listening to real problems you're facing in the field (because, again, they are unqualified to even be in their positions), and telling you that the real problem is YOU, and the fact you're not using IMPACT.

I wish I weren't making this stuff up, but it's true. I've never worked for a company full of idiots at the top. I am shocked that there are not more posts regarding this company. Perhaps it's because they used to be known as Mariner...I'm not certain. But I will tell you that I am going to get more of our team members to write on this site, as people need to be warned.

If anyone has any questions....I pretty much answered everything....but if there are any questions, I'd be more than happy to answer.

I live in CO. I know 2 things for sure: there is a lot of turnover (hmmm, why is that?) and they want you to work weekends (which I refused to do). Liaison jobs are all alike, it's a matter of how desperate do you need a job and what are willing to put up with? Lastly, many companies are not putting up with folks not meeting their quotas. Always have a plan B in place.

I believe that you are all misinformed about Sava. It is possibly the most ethical company out there in Long Term Care and the people who have issues with the company have either been fired or was about to be fired and left. The employee satisfaction survey that an independent company does indicate that we'll over 90% of the employees are satisfied with Sava. There is also over 85% recommendation to others.

This company is an awful place to work. Many of the staff outside of the nurses, SW, and administrators have little education, and they work in very old buildings. Sava doesn't upgrade the buildings they own and the competition is eating their lunch. Patient care is better in some of the nursing homes, but if you have more than one Sava building in your area, do your research and find out what discharge planners are saying about them. If it isn't favorable, you will never make a bonus. Former Liaison here, and I can tell you that I did not put Sava on my resume after being with the company for 1 year. That's how screwed up it is

Completely agree with all of the negative posts. The sales management is without question the worst in healthcare. The old guard in Atlanta is at war with the new field management and the Liaisons are in the middle. Yes they do use IMPACT and it is a joke. It is taught in their corp training and never used in the field. The managers insist on role plays and the paperwork is never ending. Oh and forget about making bonus the quotas are out of reach for 90% of the reps. Stay away.

This company represents everything wrong in health care. Their buildings are hell on earth and no human being deserves to go there and no American tax payor should have to pay a dime for the below standard care. All of the buildings should close immediately and every administrator and manager be brought up on charges. The only reason Sava exists it make illegal $$ for the management.
