Sandoz CEO is "40 Under 40"....

He May be young, but he is exactly the problem Novartis is PLAGUED with for some time now/years: Useless undeserving rich type to move ahead! Harvard degree, dresses like you and me, how, where, when has he deserved the slide to success like so many others sliding in and out of this company. I am not jealous as I am happy where I am at, but don't understand this original post as to say Novartis sucks??? He sucks too!

One of the major problems with this dump of a company is that there is no such thing as working your way up to the top. Reps used to be able to move on to bigger and better things...now they can't even get leveled in title. How bout sending this prick into the field for a minimum of two years to get some real insight...not some 6month stint that this company gives to these people calling it field experience. The only people who the company values anymore are these talking heads that they blindly follow with infinite degrees from ivy league schools with theoretical experience because they majored in it or our "brilliant" marketing dept did a survey on it. I got news for you I've filled out these surveys for the doctors. The doctors could give a shit which marketing message has impact you brain dead waste of a marketing dept. oh...back to only valuing people with advanced degrees....is the company any better off with these people in high positions...or was it just as good when a rep could move up to say a brand mgr or head of sales, or whatever this schmuck from the original post does. What a let down this company has become for anyone aspiring to grow and develop within the organization. Shit forget about even having a career in other ares of the company...most of can't even aspire to have a career in sales anymore.

What did he do in one year that got him tapped to be CEO? I'm sure that must have pissed some longer term Sandoz folks off to be passed over...

Well, remember now the alphabet guy pointed out that Dan Vasella married the daughter of the chairman of the board? He moved to NJ, carried the bag for a few months, went inside and did some stuff there and then went to Harvard for a few months? Maybe this guy did the same. That's the reason this company is in the crapper. No real world experience for the guys at the top. If you find someone becoming a DM in two or three years then moving to NJ and moving up you can guarantee they have their nose up someone's ass so far it will never escape. It doesn't take brains or talent any more, it takes being moved up because you are someone's pet. Nuff said.

Really difficult to be head of a generics firm if the parent company basically gifts you the right to make the first 6-month protected generic.

Another MBA wonderboy whose daddy got him a job. Film at 11.
