SalesForce.com Blows

I just spent 2 hours trying to input all kinds of information into this stupid program that is about as intuiative as my water head, down syndrome, brother in law. So instead of going out to sell product, Im going to come on this site and bash this turd of a program while I wait for my slow ass hospital to turn a room.

What a freakin hassle this new "Tool" is going to be. The launch was a joke and the software is even worse. If Integra wanted to waste my time this badly they could have saved the 3 mil they spent on this program and instead gotten us all gift certificates for the local asian rub and tug with happy ending. At least we could have found some enjoyment in that experience and sold about as much in doing so.

I almost went all "office space" on my lap top just now for giving me an error message and not letting me input a new account. "PC LOAD LETTER!!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!!!!"

Signed,

Michael Bolton

No shit!!! who makes these dumb ass decisions. What a waste of fucking time and money. Douche bag managment fuckers that couldn't sell shit to buy breakfast. Probably their fucking buddy that works for "Sales cloud 2". Are you kidding me. Really, where do these ass bags actually get their management jobs. I have been in this business a long time and these fuckers never change. Take every major company, they are all run by stupid mother fuckers and their little ass lick managers who couldn't sell shit either. If there wasn't so much money to be made in this business I would have left a long time ago.

I understand where you're coming from, but I do have a serious question, believe it or not. Just curious after a month or two of doing this - are you finding any value in it? If so, what? Is it helping you manage your territory better, or do you still find it to be Big Brotherish? My company may be going to salesforce.com. Wondering if it's a benefit or threat to existence.

Personally I have yet to see the true value. I understand the necessity of reporting sales opportunities and keeping up with company goals. SF.com is just a tool at capturing that reporting. Maybe I'm a dinosaur but i don't need to keep all of my opportunities and things Im working on in a software to keep up with them. The same goes with my contacts. I find keeping them in a blackberry or outlook to be working fine.

If this were a situation where you are trying to manage 200 accounts and opportunities at one time then the program would be a more helpful tool in the field. For my purposes at Integra it is more of a hassle.

OP of the question here. Thanks. Yes, clearly there are a couple of problems - the info is only as good as the input, so if everyone doesn't keep up with it then Mgmt who looks at it starts making decisions on bad assumptions and info. Also, it seems like it could be a lot of busy work that distracts from time that could be spent selling. Additionally, the success probabilities assigned to a plan/action can be very arbitrarily assigned, so the dollars that roll up from that can be just as arbitrary - again, garbage in/garbage out. Seems to me that a good management team would be better at understanding the business personally than relying on a questionable tool like this and forcing your team to spend time doing this instead of something more productive. Are thos fair assessments? I've yet to hear anyone speak positively of salesforce, including competitors, friends around the industry, friends and family in pharma, etc.

My company uses salesforce and I hated it at first but now find it useful. Its great when you can bring up prior discussions and interactions that you may have forgoten. I do manage over 100 accounts and 100's of surgeons are in my territory so their alot to remember. If I was in a small territory in ortho, neuro, cardio or similar I dont think it would be very usefull. I tend to do some updates on my phone during the week and then clean it up on sundays. My company trys to give me a hard time about not being "on it" during the week but wont do shit cause im blowing my numbers out.

Why is my manager so worried about sfa? Is it being added to the bag? This used to be the best rep job and now it is stupid. Will someone take out the trash already and let us get back to what it really important, selling devices!

This system has caused 1,000 times more headaches then the benefits. I used to use Act in another position and it was great. I didn't spend more then a couple minutes putting in my data and I could pull reports that were useful to me. Salesforce.com is hogwash. They promise all kinds of data for the corporation but the data is so inaccurate it isn't worth anything. Do not spend money on this program. The program takes to much time away from the job of actually making sales presentations.

If you are looking for a better interface for Salesforce.com that makes it much easier to use on an iPad you should try this App. I even posted a review on their site, I copied that link too.

Its easier to use but uses the SFDC back end so management will stay off your back and let you sell and they will get all the data they need. AND.... it works off line and sync's when you get back on-line.

Make the friggin thing like a game app or even a GPS styled program that you could turn ON during or after your call. Let the SF people keep the database current and up to date. Working in large academic cities it is nearly impossible to keep up with.
Personally I hope Reptrax, SF etc all end up in potters field together where they belong

We have it at work and believe it or not my "goals" revolve more around inputting every thing i do rather than selling our product. I get the impression management would rather I log 1000 shit calls a day and sell nothing than make one good call and sell something.

Its SLOOOOOW, non intuitive, Tedious to input, based on guess work (enter the probablitly of this deal coming off f*ck do they think I have a crystal ball) plus all the useless sales people who never hit targets spend their time justifying their failure with activity while I'm justifying myself by selling!!!!!

Only a matter of time before this shit brings the whole firm to its knees.

Interesting that your company is paying you more on input rather than selling....must be the latest trend. I used to work for Integra, but blessed to get out when I did. I signed on with a larger company... we utilize a different CRM than you, but our goals are also catered and centered around 15 calls on a dumbass specific product within a month plus 6 conversions on the new product,of which I get NO commission on. If these calls are not done/ logged- I forfeit 5% of my overall monthly commission. Additionally, a MINIMUM of an additional 120 calls in a month must be made, even if you have vacation time included. All in all, aside from this BS, my company is leap years better than what it was like at Integra. Won't leave here if this is the only thing I Can complain about. It is what it is, its Just what sales has turned into. Moral of the story: CRM's perpetuate creative writing!
