Sales Training Idea

Other pharma companies provide there reps with audio CDs and podcasts discussing topics like disease state knowledge, managed care issues, handling objections, listening to other reps verbalize messaging.

Since we spend so much time in the car every day, I'd love to have a CD or podcast that I could listen to during my downtime in the car.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

In all honesty, we as a sales force, would learn alot more by way of this! At least we could get rid of all the crap managers who don't coach any sales messages or offer ideas. I already listen to these in the car. Dale Carnegie has quite a few great books out. I'm thinking I'll send a few copies to the "leaders" in my area for Christmas.

This is an excellent idea; however, you must remember, you work at Forest and management typically isn't intelligent enough to see the vaue in this.

Forest has actually made tapes available for in-care supplimental training. It was cassette tapes, which shows you it has been a while. But the company did find value in the idea at one point, and might again find value in the idea. It is actually a good suggestion - perhaps a first for a Cafe Pharma chat board!

No we don't. Funny, most of us have expert sales and pharma exp. only forest hires newbie moldable idiots to vomit "sales messages" and scripts. This job has nothing to do with "messages" it has to do with relationships. How about instead of the bloated immature little kid DM's hired to track time stamps and forward up exp. reports, hire DMs that actually call on accounts and instead of field "visits" and micro managing ride alongs, redirect the "DM" to the territories largest institutions and hospitals for formulary and fostering relationships at the admin level at supply channel distribution pharmacies and long term care or old fashioned cold calling on key accounts outside of the comm. based targets that forest hits with a routine.

This would mean forest would have to promote people that had actual sales experience and we all know the don't do that. The reason is because everyone all the way up the ladder to senior management has about the same level of experience - which is minimal. Nice thought though!

You must be new. Let me guess, you came from enterprise?

I not asking you to hide your head in the sand but I am asking you to quit bitching and manage your own situations. The reality is fox news or msnbc propaganda is a part of the problem. I am just curious how much you all really know about politics. You guys are just fucking pharma reps and alot of you dont even have your own house in order. Our country is for sale... Breaking news it aint what it used to be. Do I have opinions on politics? Yes, I express them in the ballot box.

Ask yourself this are you will to spend as much time on being the best at what you do or do you want to blame Bush/Obama for the state of our country. Time for some honesty, we are a reality tv watching, fast food eating, Lindsay Lohan idolizing country where money talks and bull shit walks. All im saying is "Get yours and stop bitching" and suck it bitches.

Yes relationships are important but with todays environment you still have to deliver a sales message. Not all physicians want to be our friends, they probably have plenty already. I do agree with sales management taking a role in the business and calling on the supply channels and key accounts. That is a good idea. And if the training material in the form of a CD would help you, then that is also a good suggestion.
