Sales Rep Union?

Heard through the grapevine our sales reps were contacted by the union in the west? Any truth to this?

I never thought a union forming in the 21st century would ever be a good idea, until I made a major career blunder and decided to work for labcorp as a sales rep. When you have leadership who acts like the mafia and says kick up an amount every month (which by the way it is all a verbal agreement, no contracts signed or physical orders placed) or you will be on a PIP after two months of not meeting your nut, you know there are some real doushe canoe's running the show. There is zero training, zero support, and zero personal development - yeah reps have personal accountability and this is sales but there is a problem with leadership in the organization when a conpany would do this. It's called professionalism, something this company has none of. Labcorp gets what they deserve if a union forms. Word to the wise for anyone contemplating working for this shit show.

You sound like a real pussy. Learn how to sell. The company has every right to be on your ass to sell something monthly. That is your job! This company sucks because they don't have a comp plan for true sales people. If you like to service come on board. If you want to get paid to sell stay away.

Not after two months while providing zero training..

Come on dude. How many times have you scrolled through your territory report and call in gainers that you had no impact on? Most SME's do this because you can only close big deals every so often. Monthly is unrealistic. How many people really SELL here? It would make more sense to have a yearly quota of 100k of new business, not this 6 month rolling nonsense.

I agree that we all surf but I also sell monthly. Either this plan makes no sense. That is the real issue.

Don't you think getting paid on a quarterly quota for new business would be a better option than this current comp plan? For example, 25k per quarter quota. Reaching 95-99.9% would pay 6K. 100-104.9 percent pays 12k. 105-109.9 pays 18k. And so on. Eventually, at some point it becomes uncapped which is why people want to work in sales and it would be a REAL sales job then. This would scrap the territory payout and make the SME role a true hunter/closer role. If 2 quarters in a row you are below 95% to goal, then the PIP conversations could come out. Just my opinion.

This is certainly not an easy job and not one where you can "call" on a few accounts and call it a day. Go back to pharma where you only need to call on 9 MD's a day. You are right the training is lackluster but for those of us who are looking to a challenge and want to make money it is a descent spot. My advice work hard for 3 years and bounce to device or specialty.

I didn't read anything in there about making 9 "calls" a day or pharma. It was mostly about no training and the lack of time to adjust and learn the business. Like 6 months...........
