Sales Rep Interview Help

Yes leave. Everyone that leaves this company ends up happier

This is true, but if you need a job it's a different situation all together. They'll make you sell them some stupid product and probably make you do it more than once. Close them hard, because all they care about is a hard close and asking for business "can you find six patients by next Friday" that type of BS

Hoping to get some advice for my face to face with DM..any input will help.

There are some people on CP that would like to be helpful, but this company is so huge, it's hard to help you without knowing what division you're looking into.

That being said, this industry is all about the STAR interview format, and as one other poster said, closing. An interview is the most appropriate place to close!

there are divisions in this company that are great places to be, so save your judgment for after the interview (and hopefully a ride along).

Thanks for the help. This is PC. I want this job so f--- badly. No pharma experience just b2b. I hate STAR questions...truly hate them.
It's not a bad job if you are just starting out. Just keep in mind that after a year or two, you can go on to something that will pay you much better.

They will definitely use the STAR format and be sure to close for the job. Ask them for a second interview because chances are it will be a three interview process. Two with the hiring manager and then one with the RM. They will definitely make you sell them a fictitious product. Don't ask too many questions during the sell, just make sure you close them for something "time bound and actionable" i.e. Five scripts by next Friday.

Take the job and get out within a year to do something else. The grass is not always greener but it has been once I left this place. The POD system is a very hard environment to sell in the PC world and in some territories and it is very very hard on some of the best people. Accept the job and start applying after training to other positions. Good luck.

my advice---run!!! I understand wanting to get into the industry ( although it gets worse every year and fewer jobs in most areas) but there are other places. Many of the Contract companies are now hiring individuals like yourself and you will most likely have a much more positive experience.
